What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Ppf doesn’t enhance shine. It actually mutes it to a degree.

I treated my car with 2 coats of 9h ceramic Nano-coating about 2 years ago. After that - Nothing but Dri-Wash N Guard. I’ve been using Dri-wash exclusively for about 30 years now and will not stray from it unless something better comes along. Detailing my car USED to be a full day event - but this product has eliminated the washing and drying process completely (unless I get the car really dirty). Thanks for the feedback! Keep ‘em clean - turning heads since 2018! db

Can you share where you got that product ? how long did it take to do the two coats ? and did you do it outside or in a garage?
Thanks !

Provided is a pic of the products I used/use for the results shown. The ceramic Nano-coating was purchased from Amazon for ~$50.00. I did NOT do any of the clay bar prep as many recommend. I did this to the car right after I had the graphics installed, so the paint was near pristine. Nano-coating is a simple process and took about four hours. I believe a closed environment (garage) is a must unless you are in a wind/dust free area. Great lighting is a MUST, for if you miss buffing an area, it will likely leave some streaks. Unfortunately, I have a couple minute missed buffing spots, but only noticeable to me thus far. The Dri-Wash N Guard is a spray on - wipe off product. It works great on all non-porous surfaces. It’s available on the Internet, and through local distributors. I believe there may be more choices now in the spay-wipe-seal manufacturers providing products. KEY for use with this type of product is micro-fiber towels! It has easily decreased my automotive detailing time by at least 4 hours!
So I’ll close with this observation - Ceramic nano coating is a very HARD top coat - but it isn’t magical against rock chips! I have a few to validate that! For chip protection - PPF is likely the best bet. Thanks again for the feedback!!! db52924BF1-4719-423C-A3B3-7D47F01B1BA2.webp

I applied my CQuartz in a car port, over two mornings. The coating itself took no more than 3-4 hours, but surface prep took as long at least.

(love the die cast in the background!:D)

I won't be trying Dri-Wash N Guard or any other spray and wipe method. Reason being, I DO angst over swirls. And without some kind of additional protection like your use of Nano-coating (ceramic coating and the like) I cannot see this being the way to go on a regular basis. I was already departing from a lifetime of indoctrination to go rinseless. That, at least, uses enough water to avoid/minimize swirls. Just make sure that when you wipe along an area, that you use a clean surface with your cleaning towel. The instant that ANY darkening of the towel occurs, switch to a clean surface. Use as many towels as it takes to keep flipping and wiping; I use six 14x18" terrycloth white hand towels. When you know that the surface is clean, then you go to the microfiber drying towel with complete confidence that you are not drying off anything that can swirl the clear coat; and you don't buff with the drying towel (perish the thought:eek: ), you lay the towel down and wick off the water without rubbing.

I agree 100% with Merlin. This sounds like a good way to induce marring on your paint. If I spend hours polishing paint to remove as many defects as I can prior to ceramic coating, this would not be doing a pristine finish any favors.

Not sure if something like this has been posted in the past. I made a simple tool to remove the center caps. Also found that a bit of grease on the cap tabs also helps.

I use an old drum brake adjuster.20180620_085157.webp It's since been cleaned up and the ends taped.

It's been a long time since I've seen one of those!

Didn't do anything, but bought something. Well mostly for myself, picked up a Quickjack SLX 5000 today. Will make car maintenance a lot easier.
