Navigation Update V14 due out April 20, 2020

It is - in fact - not that easy.

For example.

Version 13.0 = (NAM.12.41.51) (in Canada),(this version BROKE the online local search)
Version 13.5 = (NAM.12.47.44.xxx) - I am using this version today.
Version 14.0 = (NAM.13.41.42.xxx) - available for purchase + shipping. (you can not download this version today)

Why do they not put the version number in the "version info" is beyond me.

Perfect, just what I was looking for and couldn't seem to explain worth a damn. Thanks.

So I'm on version 13.0. Only thing offered to me is to buy the sd card with version 14. Any way to find 13.5? Or should I not bother and just wait the 2 weeks for the download?

Just wait. There is nothing significant or any drastic improvements to warrant spending the money on it. I'm on 13.5 and I can barely use the nav because it's so bad.

I hadn't planned on buying it, was hoping there was still a download link available.

Is it just map updates, or are there other software updates for the infotainment included?

From what I can remember, when I updated from 13 to 13.5 there were only some minor map UI changes. Nothing in the rest of the infotainment system was changed that I could see. Maybe if they added tune mix to sirius xm radio, then maybe I would justify spending the $30 + shipping. Personally, I can wait until May 15th for the free download option.

Assuming it's free on May 15 for us here in the US, yeah, definitely in.. I think I'm still on 11.x with an early-19 build GT1..

I thought there was plenty of nice changes in V13.5, see here Map version 13.5 Released

But yes - I would download when available.

Well that explains why I didn't notice most of them. They are all related to the in-built map and nav which I hardly ever use and everything else is replaced with google assistant or android auto.

The huge redesign of the media player is quite good.

I'll make an effort to try it out next time but I still mostly just use spotify on android auto most of the time.

I use Spotify via bluetooth. The media player interface is MUCH better in V13.5 vs V13.

Spotify + Waze + Drivemode with a magnetic wireless fast charger = better than android auto in my opinion. (Using my Galaxy S9+)

I would share a picture of my phone mounted, but I only have my phone as a camera
This image is last year with old software (you can see there is no progress bar for the Spotify song, 13.5 software has a progress bar

That's very interesting and I also have a Galaxy S9+. I will say that navigating my spotify playlist is a PITA on android auto so that is definitely something that still needs improving. Half the time, I just voice command songs that I want to hear and the other half, I just leave it on shuffle. Haven't had a chance to drive anywhere the last couple days but now I'm intrigued to check it out. How's that mount you have there?

Does anyone know if there is a way to select a specific playlist or song in a playlist using Bluetooth with an iPhone with a 2019 Stinger GT2?

My old INFINITI would show me the titles in my playlist and allow me to select a specific song from the playlist. The Stinger doesn’t appear to have that option. I have to control the song and playlist from my iPhone. Plus the random play option keeps reenabling itself every time I start the playlist.

By far my favourite mount.

Very strong quad magnets, works in landscape or portrait, wireless FAST charging, integrated cooling fan. It's about as good as it gets for now with 10W wireless charging
Requires an adaptive fast charging USB adapter (9v). It comes with a standard 5V USB adapter which I never used.

It's very convenient to just place it on the self aligning magnets to charge.

Drivemode is another hidden gem too

Looking forward to the free release, Im on version 12

Do you use QuantumLogic in the stereo at all? Any problems with it?

Some users have had the audio in their stereo occasionally go silent. It would happen about once every 2-3 weeks for me, until I turned off QuantumLogic. It seemed to be related to Bluetooth rather than radio use, but it's hard to tell.
No Audio from Infotainment?

My friend with a 2018 with V12 has had no problems. It sounds like most who have had problems have a newer version (my 2019 with V12.5 and V13.5 both did it). To the best of our knowledge, QuantumLogic isn't in hardware, it's in the stereo software.

If you upgrade and see a change (for better or worse), can you let us know?

Also I was looking on the install instruction and it says if you are on a newer MAP version then NA.11.41.52 V12 you will only get the map update.

No new features are updated.

Can anyone confirm this?

Without the updates I don't think this update is worth it unless you really use the navigation feature heavily...

Thank you

I got the new SD card today. It does not seem to apply to the Stinger. I had 12.4.xxx.xxx on the car before the update, and I still got all the new features. "Sounds of Nature", new map colors, better USB/bluetooth playback screen, etc.

did you lose the phone signal and battery status icons on the top right?

I honestly cannot remember if they were there before or not, but they are definitely not there now.

Thanks for that info. Definitely interested now. I have several 16 GB-sized cards lying around, but will have to hunt for a 32-GB version.. I think I had one (in micro SD) once upon a time. Should be ok with an adapter, I would think..
