3.3TT Kia Stinger Aftermarket Exhaust Information and Discussion

I saw some people talk about fitment issues with the Quicksilver product. Some had to do their own cutting to make it fit.

Final fitment on the passenger side had to be finished in place for some. It has a slip flange and allows the muffler assembly to move either in or out of the tips depending on where installer wants them. Most installs had either the pipe heated and it went into final resting place, or other shops chose to cut and shorten pipe. Either way, it was a simple procedure to cure a misalignment of the passenger side pipes being centered in outlets. Easily done during install. Quicksilver is redoing the whole process and jigs to correct this. They are also upping the ante with a Supersport predecessor to the Sport version we have. Sound and fitment are basis of this iteration. Once fitment was corrected, everyone is very happy with the purchase and the sound has to be heard to appreciate

The shop I took it to had to bend/weld to get it to fit; wont be an issue moving forward though as they've discontinued the original catback and will offer two new systems that will offer a more sound than the original and will fix the fitment issues.

It doesn't sound very good in the videos IMO, but phone microphones can't pick up the low frequency it provides. It has a very deep tone, its obviously not a V8 but it provides a unique deep V6 sound.

I already have an ARK secondary downpipe will they be offering it without the secondary downpipe that will mate up to the ARK?

The silenced downpipe was already separate, I just purchased the catback. So where your Ark dowpipes end, where the original 2nd set of cats were located is where the catback system begins moving towards the back. It should be an easy swap; mine didn't come with bolts/fasteners or gaskets for the flanges though so be aware.

PREORDER KIA Stinger GT and GTS 3.3 - SuperSport Exhaust System (2017 on) <-----Theres the link.

I'm pretty sold on the MBRP but the price is nice on this so now I'm second-guessing my decision

Sound is completely different than the MBRP

This technology eliminates the rasp
and ricer sound. Sounds deep and classy

Let's keep it simple: There is not a cellphone or GoPro that can capture the sound of any aftermarket exhaust properly. Quicksilver is no exception. There are plenty of posts from those who have bought the system who have described how it sounds. I have the QS downpipe and catback and it has two distinct sound profiles: Bass down low and scream up high.

If I were to rate the loudness:

Borla 10

Ark Grip 7/8

MBRP 6/7

Quicksilver 4/5

Stillen/MagnaFlow 2/3

Stock 1

I haven't heard any of them in person, just my opinion based on mostly videos. I would assume the new QS system would be closer to MBRP possibly, maybe just a notch louder? Hard to say unless they release a new video.

Just posted this in another thread but here is a little video of stock vs MBRP with ARK DP I whipped up. Sorry for the low quality.

Honestly, for me, while it sounds GOOD it's a little too loud. I know I know I must be sensitive and I should of expected it but in hindsight I should of went with one or the other, not both.

The resonance in the cabin is a little much around the 2-2.5k. At first I thought it maybe because the 63x89 tips I had installed in the video were wedged in the stock cutouts so tightly that they were causing vibrations. I went with these smaller tips that clear the stock cutouts completely and lowered the sound so little, maybe not at all haha.

Sounds like the Quicksilver exhaust with the ARK DP might be perfect for me, as long as the shop can work out any fitment issues...

I'll post a video of the Quicksilver exhaust with ARK DP installed when I can but it looks like they won't make the same system anymore so might not be that useful?

I have personally had the Stillen

sound was good, no rasp
kinda deep
drone was a 10

Also had Borla
sound was very loud
on cold start and revs
very raspy and ricer on acceleration
and on the throttle was crazy loud
no drone

Quicksilver has good cold start
good revs
can really really hear the bovs
nice rich deep tone and bass
amazing sound on the throttle
for me
zero drone
its maybe not up to par with the GT9 at $2300 but it has a sound all its own and more people will finally come around to it I believe once we have sound clips from the Supersport, but by then the discount may be over if everyone waits to wait to get in on it
I am hoping to have one of the first made, or 2nd, so that i/we can post the enhanced sound and fitment

Which one are you referring to in comparison?
The Quicksilver has no rasp, like my Borla, has no drone, like my Stillen
and overall the sound seems to "complement" this car more so than either of them

Random blah blah blah cuz someone must've deleted a post. This keeps popping up as unread

The Quicksilver has a nice, deep tone. People two lanes over won't be looking at you thinking "what an immature brat!"

It is a very refined, almost too quiet, deep note from idle to about 2k rpm. Above that, it has a lovely burble. I have a little drone around 1800-2k compared to what I'm used to with aftermarket exhausts in my old BMWs, but I think this is a fault of the car's design with those fake tips trapping noise in the body cavity rather than a fault of any aftermarket muffler. I managed to slide the passenger side can back even more tonight and i wrapped the pipes with tape to see if that will take care of the limited drone I had left. Time will tell.

It is a more refined note than the stock exhaust. Stock almost sounds like there's an exhaust leak when I backed into my garage.

Ok - is it stainless steel? The site did not say.

304 stainless

Hm - I might be a customer if that is true. The wait might be worth it.

Just bought the Jun BL with ECV for my 3.3 GT1. Does anybody know if there's a way to use the JB4 to control the exhaust valve? It's vacuum controlled, so I know it wouldn't be directly. But I'm wondering if it can control a solenoid based on throttle input to open the path of the vacuum line to the butterfly valve.

They should have a car in shortly for redesign. They are in talks with the owner of said car about specifics

I can only comment on the ARK grip cat back system , had one installed on my 2020 GT1 on Thursday and am delighted with the sound , yes there is a drone in the car, but the more i drive it , the less i notice it , the installer at my KIA dealer commented on the quality of the system , welds , bends etc , also installed the Injen cold air intake system last week , coupled with the exhaust , the sounds that come from the Stinger are very pleasing to the ears ..

Does anyone know anything about Agency Power's valvetronic exhaust system. It's for sale on their website, but no videos anywhere. I also have to sign a waiver since the exhaust isn't "street legal."
