Mmmm. Not sure about that. Because population is a singular collective noun one would normally use ‘is’ when referring to it. Plus it flows better for comedic purposes.

Very true, perhaps that fridge belongs to one of those " vegans- my body is my temple " sort of people, although there are some, albeit small number that refrain from such beverages.
Here is a true time pic of our fridge, it hasn't got that much beer in it because hubby has been working lately but he normally buys a six pack when he has days off. However we have mum's wine supply in our pantry and that's been going down well

Got off night shifts yesterday, had really busy nights, one patient rang or his falls alarm went off and I had to go to him no less than 20 times, I'm going to enjoy a couple of glasses of wine tonight, maybe more and get " very happy " because that's what I feel like tonight
