(SOLVED, I was unaware MAP 1 only cranked about 30 more HP compared to nearly 100HP on other map. Waiting for spark plugs for MAP 2.)
Hey all,
Today I finally installed my JB4 tuner kit and followed the official guide instructions, and even hooked up the OBDII. (rigged through the door because my connection of the engine bay to the cabin was super taped up for some reason)
I went through all the precautions of locking the car and waiting 5 minutes until I plugged it in. I bought the Bluetooth enabled kit (pain in the ass to set up, why does it not come from the factory with the device installed??) and it successfully connected to my phone and I was able to read my RPM, etc, but wouldn’t read what gear I am in for some reason.
I have not yet installed the aftermarket gapped spark plugs (still shipping) and have not installed the fuel wires either because I didn’t want to puncture a OEM cable just yet.
When I got it out on the road, I felt no difference at all. It still shifts at 6,000 RPM instead of 6,800, what it is set to shift at, and the boost PSU is definitely not changed, it never goes over 15-16 PSI. I drove for over 20 minutes with constant pulls seeing if I just had to wait for it to kick in, and still nothing.
Even in MAP 1, I should still be feeling a difference and the shift red line and psi should be increased right? And there’s no way I got the two inputs to the ECU wrong, because the car wouldn’t be working at all if it wasn’t the right ones correct?
Please help, I want to get my $700 worth of this product and have heard so much good about it.
