2020 Stinger Rumors

They will only bend whilst driving around corners. As mentioned by Nuthadey, they also do it on start up when the car is running through its checks.

OK, I will try that. I guess you have to be moving. My previous car that had it would show the lights move while stationary.

Thanks to everyone who clarified that fact for us.

The 2020 Stingers have not actually reached dealer’s lots yet. They have only been shown at the OC auto show because that is where Kia is based out of in the US.

The 2020 models look identical to the 2019 models with one exception that I have seen so far. They replaced the Kia badge with the Stinger badge on the rear trunk.

We probably won’t see 2020 Stingers on dealers lots until December or perhaps into next year.
That would be great if the 2020 stinger had the stinger badge instead of the kia badge on the back. Hopefully they also have used different brake pads that won’t cause the vibrating issue many pervious stingers had.

I expect only dealers to swap out the small Stinger for the large Stinger in the middle. Kia Corp. isn't sending any Stingers over with the KIA taken off the back. Why would they? It's absolutely no advantage to them to remove the most visible declaration of their presence on the road.

The US spec brake pads work for MOST drivers. So a dirtier pad will not be a desirable change. Very few drivers actually push these OE pads hard enough to create a pad deposits issue. Late braking for traffic lights won't do it. And that is the single worst habit of American drivers: standing on the brakes at the last second at inner city speeds doesn't create any sort of heat buildup.

As far as bending lights are concerned on our cars you have to select Auto on the lever stem to activate.

I'm confused. You have a Stinger and you thought having dark chrome accents on the car was a sign that it's a 2020?

Do you have a 2.0t trim or did the dealer replace/wrap all of your dark chrome?

I'm sorry my ignorance is unsettling for you, but I didn't realize this was an option on for the 2018. Since I am not savvy with the cars, I assumed; very sorry for my ignorance and assumption in this area!! My side mirrors are white, not chrome. If you can see my account, I have a picture of my car posted. My handles are brushed stainless, as are my air vents. I was never given an option for the particular dark chrome as seen on the vehicle I took a picture of. I am friends with a dealer, whom owns our local Kia Dealership, this particular vehicle was apparently bought somewhere else, as ours has only sold three Stingers and this particular option was never brought up...not that I would have gotten regardless. Have a great week!!

Ok, from your original post, I totally got the wrong idea! It seemed like you hated the Stinger, I did not get that you were talking about the one pictured. lol. I was thinking that you were not even a Stinger owner.

Ah, if you look at my picture and click through to my account, you should be able to see my Stinger. I have the stainless door handles, stainless air vents (if that's what they are indeed called). I just hadn't seen a Stinger that looked like that one before. Now on my friend's dealership floor, there is an Orange Stinger GT. Pretty sharp looking, but I prefer my white...my particular 2018 Stinger. My apologies for the confusion and again, my apologies for my lack of knowledge...being a teacher, I am trying to educate myself through this Kia site. I want to be more in the know. ;)

I just took a look at your pic. Yours is the 2.0 liter turbo 4 version Stinger.

The twin turbo 6 cylinder Stingers come with larger grilles, the dark chrome trim, matching dark chrome mirrors, 19 inch wheels ( except for some that have 18" wheels with A/S tires) and a few other random visual tidbits to differentiate it from the 4 cylinder version.

Here's a couple of pics in the same color as your car.

(My picture is from my school parking lot, ha.) I'm a professional photographer too, so I need to work on the photo and get a much better shot, ha. Thank you for taking the time to explain the differences to me. I sincerely appreciate the information and your time!

Lol. Why the low res pic? :D I'm not mocking, I'm just terribly curious how you managed to select that pic for your profile. I look forward to seeing a better pic or pics of your car.

And yes, that is a 2.0L either a base Stinger or a Premium. If you have the Harman Kardon 15 speaker surround sound system (which I suspect you do, because the top of your car looks like you have the sunroof too) then you have the Premium. Also, you should have a power tilting and telescoping steering wheel.

I maybe wrong but doesn't the ladies wheels indicate a base 2.0?

Good for you Mz B1ggz. You have come to the right place to educate yourself about Stingers. Wish you the best.

Haha, well...you see, I took this picture with my old phone. I will work on getting that updated picture now, ha.

I don't know what the base is, but this Stinger has the following: turbo, the red brake things (haha, sorry, still learning), tilt/telescoping steering, heated leather seats, sun roof, lowering reverse drive side mirrors, my headlights look like the realign upon turning on each time, auto high/low sensor, back up cam, lane assist...I don't know what it's lacking, but I will have the push button rear trunk added over Christmas break. And I will have the stainless covers added to my pedals.

Ok not the base then, nice:).

Okay, MerlintheMad, I have now updated my Stinger photo with a professional photo I took of it just a couple of months back, lol. ;)

Oo! Pretty! I don't see the issue with the lighting. But then, I am not a professional photographer not by a long shot.

(edit: LOL! I only just now, because of your profile car pic, realized that I can have one too. So, now I have a pic of my car in my profile. I admit to being slow, but this was ridiculous. )
