I surprised her with it for her 30th... parked it in the garage and put a bow on it and everything... when I opened the garage to show her (the Stinger was parked in the garage next to hers), her first reaction was “WTF is that” (referring to the Stinger). I can’t win! Lol
Wow. Guess she don’t like surprises either. Lol

Our wives need to get together to compare notes. Lol

HA I’m in! Would at least give us a good excuse to go for a nice drive while they complain about how we like our cars more than them ;)

The dealership didn't even put a bow on my stinger for me, I was really disappointed :(. They just parked it outside for me; I got the keys and was like "Erm... Alright, see you I guess".

Dunno if that's the norm, or just Kia.

My friend is the GM at a local Hyundai dealership, so I called him and he let me borrow one of their bows lol. I think it’s something you have to ask for, and even then some dealerships don’t have them, and would have to order one.

Ya’ll are too funny, my wife would be the same way. Tho she wanted me to get rid of my truck, which I sold to get the Stinger....now she complains constantly because there are things she wants to buy but we don’t have the space to haul it. I tell her I can rent one for the day but she usually just brushes it off (hey win-win for me, got a Stinger and I’m saving $$ on all the stuff she’d otherwise be buying for me to pick up and haul around). I will probably get another truck at some point, but most likely a smaller, used one (I do miss it a little for yard projects). At that point I hope the mod market on the 2.0 Stinger is more mature so I can maybe look at swapping turbos, etc.

Let us know how that EVC exhaust turns out @TStaino! Pics/video, we want it all!

View attachment 31209 View attachment 31210 Yes for sure have noticed a difference with JB4. I don’t have a draggy, but the latest firmware of the JB4 will track MPH, and hence tracks your 0-60 times. The best stock 0-60 I’ve done is 6.6 sec... the best with the JB4 (Map 2) is 5.75 sec!

I have a dragy and I concur with TStaino. Without tune high 6's 0-60 but mostly in the 7's. Best so far with the racechip is 5.71 but mostly in the low 6's.

Did you friends get these figures with launching or just the regular step and go?

No launch mode? Both my former base and current premium have (had) launch mode. All Stingers in the US do.

Canada too (there are only 3 trims in Canada anyway), but it's not explicitly stated anywhere. The manual does give instructions on how to do it, but it says something like "on applicable models"

Just step and go. No launch mode on the 2.0... at least not mine.

I know the US has like 5 trims or something so it's possible the US 2.0 doesn't have it, but I'd still check; have a look in the manual or simply try to launch. I haven't tried to launch mine so I'm not sure if you get a message in the binnacle

Whaaaaat? Well I guess I’m a rookie there... how would I engage launch mode?

The specs say "Select from 5 driving styles: fuel-saving ECO, dynamic performance (with Launch Control) SPORT, COMFORT, plus automatically adjustable SMART or create your own style CUSTOM."

They do not have a disclaimer that excludes the 2.0..

Hello fellow 2L Owners!

There seem to be very few of us (at least comparatively to 3.3TT owners) on this forum, so I wanted to start a thread specifically for us.

Who else owns a 2L Stinger? And what mods (if any) have you done?

I will kick us off..

Car:
-2019 Kia Stinger AWD Base Model w/ Sun & Sound Package
-Aurora Black Pearl w/ Black Leather Interior
-Stinger All Weather Rubber Floor Mats

Installed Mods:
-JB4 with Fuel Control Wire
-BMS Pedal Tuner
-K&N Typhoon Performance Intake System
-HKS M45XL Spark Plugs Gapped @ .022”
-BMS Oil Catch Can
-BMS Billet Aluminum Strut Braces (Black)
-Auto Dimming Mirror w/ HomeLink & Compass

Purchased Mods (installing soon):
-Velossa Tech Big Mouth Ram Air Intake (Black/Black)
-Maintec Performance Intercooler Kit

Seriously Considering Mods:
-Jun BL EVC Catback Exhaust System
With all those performance mods why didn't you just go with a 3.3 car?
Also forgot, after exhaust i’m probably going to get some black rims or powder coat the OEM rims, not sure which yet. I’d also like to either wrap or paint the silver trim pieces in gloss black to match (of course the door handle trim will need to be body color).
You should plasti-dip your rims black first to see if you like it. If you don't like it just peel it off. If you do like it you can move to something more permanent. Good cheap way to test the look. I picked up four cans of black and am going to give it a whirl.

And there is it... thanks for your contribution to the 2.0 thread.. :cautious:

This car is an everyday driver for me, and I drive a lot of miles for work so the gas mileage is important to me. And I bought the Stinger and a Telluride at the same time so I needed to be somewhat price conscious.

Nothing wrong with that, and we all have the choice to personalize our rides.

Sorry Mr. Testy! I was just curious. With an attitude like that no wonder 2.0 treads die.

And they still apparently don't understand basic math. $2k in mods (that most of us probably would have spent even if we'd gotten a GT) is still far less than the $8-10k extra we would've had to spend to get a GT. We get a little more fun from our cars and still have happy wallets and wives ♪~ ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ
