• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australia-Specific Kia Stinger Discussion

Thanks for the discussion about paint coating / protection. I'll get some prices and see whether I go for it. Not afraid to do the ceramic protection myself, but will see if there are any special deals going on.

Went to see a couple who are friend's of hubby's.After having a chat and cuppa, they showed us their 13 yr old yellow Holden Monaro, that the guy wants to put a supercharger on, their other car is a Dodge SUV.
They wanted to check out my new car. The wife exclaimed " Omg, I like your car, is it a Lexus ? " ...it was getting dark outside.
" No, it's a Kia " we replied, she wanted to know price and had a look inside, then turned to her husband and said " I want one, I don't want an SUV anymore, I want a red one ", he replied " I'm getting my supercharger first"

On the way home, we has some fun with Sonic. Hubby used the paddle shifters and drove manually. With the bimodal exhaust really kicking in with the higher rpm's it sounded almost like a different car.
When we were on a quiet stretch of road, he put the foot down, the torque literally shot the back of my head onto the head rest.I actually held on to the passenger door arm rest and for a minute my stomach went into my mouth. I looked at him and said " I feel like I'm on a ride at the fun fair "
he just smiled and replied " you love it ";)

Yeah Maserati Ghibli is what I get the most questions about, funny how people can't read a badge, or believe it for that matter. The next words are b*llsh1t that's not a KIA.

Question: with the infotainment display, what do you guys use to clean finger marks off the screen ?

Agree, IPA or a lense cleaner, but I don't put dirty (food) fingers anynear the screen.

I haven't used any spray on the screen as yet, just using microfibre cloth, I guess Windex should work fine...:):rofl:

Yes, but don't rub too hard and use a very soft cloth.

The new formula Windex is no good it leave streaks since they removed the alcohol. Doesn't even clean windows well now.

The Windex I have works great on my Stinger's windows, I bought Bowden's Own Naked Glass quite a while back, and not impressed with it, quite disappointing results.

That's interesting. I bought Bowdens Naked Glass and it looked, smelt, and seemed no different to Windex. I asked for an explanation and Bowdens replied that their product was superior and didn't contain ammonia therefore it was safe to use on tint. A week later I see the "new" Windex at supermarkets with no ammonia but a different colour.

Yeah I have the Bowdens naked glass and it smells like the old Windex, but it also has trouble with the residue that builds up on the inside of the windscreen, with my old Subaru it was formaldehyde and it comes out of interior plastics in high heat. Having said that I haven't had a real issue with the Stinger yet, summer time I expect I will most cars with plastics have this problem. Cant beat the ISO alcohol. And if you want to buy it very cheap just look for a hair salon supplier, 5 ltrs for $20.

Yup, no greasy food in the car and I actually wash my hands after eating greasy food before I get into the car, I'm not being OTT I'm I ?
