What did you replace the Stinger with?

Best,
I have not replaced the Stinger yet since I am still waiting for buyer loan approval/payment to finalize which should be done by tomorrow/Early next week. Once this all process I will be replacing the Stinger with a 2010 Nissan GTR. It really helped me that I made money on the Stinger and didn't lose any money. I paid for Stinger 36k out the door and sold for 34k. I had the car for a year and put 14k miles on the car. So technically after it is all said and done I paid $166.66 monthly usage payment on the Stinger. I am blessed so I can't complain. Sold all the mods, then only thing I have left are the Tork OCC and Snorkles. Most Stinger owners will probably not get as lucky as me when they sell their cars because they will lose a lot of money. Now that the GTS is coming out and Supra and not to mention the Corvette there are more options out there. Now is the time to sell your Stinger.

I don't think the Supra or Corvette compete with the Stinger much at all. If I had wanted a 2-door, 2-seater, I would not have bought a Stinger. This replaces my '05 Legacy GT wagon, because that died, and I have a spouse + 2 tweener kids that will need to ride with us for another 6-8 years minimum, and for ~$40K, there's nothing else out there that competes with the same power level.

The Q50 isn't going to be doing much (desperately needs a radio upgrade, and maybe a better transmission, but Nissan has issues), the Chevy SS (sedan) is getting harder and harder to find and it's used only.. About the only viable competitor to the Stinger out there is the Charger SRT - and it doesn't come in AWD, and I don't feel like spinning tires all the time.. Test-drove a Scat pack, and I chirped the tires while GINGERLY turning a corner.

I took me 3+ years to decide on a new car - my wife would kill me if I got rid of this one now..

My wife feels the opposite way lol... she would kill me if I didn’t sell the car now before the the resale value hits shit ....again my situation is different I own other sports car and I change cars every 1-2 years on average. It’s an illness I have.....It took me 3 hours to buy the Stinger...Went to look at the car with no intentions of buying it, test drove it and 3 hours later left with the car. I had just bought the wife a brand new Honda Accord that we only had for 2 months.

Yeah, in that case I get it. And I would have bought a used Stinger, maybe, if a 2nd-year used example was available.. Almost bought a '18 Q50 Sport AWD for $27K nearly new a few months earlier, but couldn't sit in the sport seat for more than 5 minutes without getting a cramp - they have an odd bolster location that digs into my thigh.

We have a 2018 Q50 RWD, seat is fine with me but the Stinger seat is more comfortable. And it has seat heater...Our Q50 does not.

Do you buy most cars that you make tuning products for? Just curious.

Do not question the man's ways....He is a genius.....I hope he buys the new Supra!

I am joking that is a good question.

Of course, they can probably write them off as a business expense :D

The G37s (sport) seats were legendary for being made for anorexic jockeys. There are all kind of threads about people bending them, cutting off the side bolsters, etc. The Q50 version is BETTER, but it happened all 4 times I tried one: there's a protruding part of the bolster right around where my thigh ends and my cheek starts, left side that just digs in. Mind you, I'm working on losing a few lbs (6'1", ~225), and I've been uncomfortable in several cars. So I understand that I'm either super sensitive, a fat tubby, or both. However, this seat was MILES worse than anything else I've ever encountered, other than the G37s. The normal Q50 seat (non-sport) was fine when I tried one, but I wanted the sport model for the bigger brakes, adjustable suspension and paddle shifters..

Generally yes we need to have the car on hand for development and various emissions testing required by Federal law. Sometimes we lease them if the numbers are really good (like the Q50) but normally we buy them. Turns out racing parts development is often a violation of lease terms lol. ;)

Anyway we've got tons of cars stacked around here, probably $2m worth. We distribute them around to employees to drive for the most part and leave the older ones sitting in the office parking lot. The nicer ones sit in our management groups garages. :)

Yeah, I hear ya. I had a similar situation with my previous play car....picked up a 2015 Mustang GT base with 6sp for $28k. Sold it 2 years later after putting about 25k miles on it for $24k. Replaced that with my 2017 Charger Scatpack. Now on the prowl for a replacement. I get bored after about 2-3 years as well. I usually just pay cash for cars. I don't believe in borrowing money to purchase an asset that (usually) depreciates like a rock. GT-R is a nice ride.

Best,

Hey @Angel did you ever get a 1/4 mile run in with your WMI?
