It was the same with me.. if you read the TSB, it’s very specific about the torque specs of the bolts, the washers used in the kit, etc.I had my recall kit installed yesterday. It is way better but I heard it a couple times when hitting an abrupt bump that kicks the rear end up quickly. Keep us all posted if they're able to make yours better. (And how they fix it). I can't get to dealership for a while. Thanks
Mine kept rattling after the “fix” from the dealer, so I unscrewed the bolts and checked.. first, they were over-torqued. It took everything I had to unscrew one side. They’re supposed to be torqued to something like 4.3 lb/ft.. no way was it torqued to that spec. Second, they didn’t install washers on one side of one of the bumpers. I went and bought washers from Lowe’s, installed to the proper torque settings, and like magic, the rattle was gone.
I’m irritated that the dealer didn’t follow the 7 step, easy to read instructions provided by their higher headquarters, but I’m glad I was able to fix the problem for 10 minutes and $.40 worth of washers.
This was on Monday.. I’ve driven all over the place and it hasn’t made a peep since.
