... so far, but recently became interested in Stingers. I drive a 2015 Optima currently, and my hobby car is a 90 Ford Taurus SHO, but I figured my next car would be a fun car, and have at least three years until I'm ready to commit. I'll be lurking for a while.

Cheers!

I read hubby not hobby. Womp womp.

Ditch the Fix Or Repair Daily and get the Stinger!

I just traded my Optima platinum 2013 yesterday for a 2019 GT Stinger, I couldn't be happier.
I really liked my Optima, it had the panoramic sunroof, DRL's heated/cooling seats etc but my Stinger has so much more and with the Bimodal sports exhaust it is so much fun to drive. Sure the Optima had plenty of Pep and I was often the first off the poke ( perhaps more to do with my cat like reflexes ) but I love my Stinger and Iv'e had it a little over 24 hours.I lurked on here for about 2 months before I engaged with anyone. Have had fun and lots of info about the car for about 7 months, and made some great friends. Enjoy yourself and I hope eventually you get Stung :)

Welcome!!....not sure if you will be able to hold off for three to make the switch ;)

Do not, I repeat, do not get out of the SHO and into the Stinger for a test drive! In no time flat, you'll end up looking at your SHO with little to no love and your three year plan will turn into a three day plan!
Having owned a '90 Taurus SHO myself, the Stinger is MILES ahead of that car in every respect (especially reliability!) The SHO, in it's time, was a great car compared to the rest of the field. That was then, this is now. Aftermarket tweaks make the SHO better, but in small ways. Aftermarket tweaks in the Stinger make an already great car a LOT better! Tons of potential if you want a really fun car.

My wife, who is also a motorhead and an accomplished road course driver, will, to this day, turn and spit on the ground in disgust when hearing mention of a Taurus SHO.
When we came back from our Stinger test drive, she turned to me and said "If you don't buy this car, you're an idiot!!"

Folks sure are stuck on the SHO. Stinger would be the daily driver. The SHO is a hubby, er, hobby car. Something to bond with the kids over, plus sometimes it's just fun to drive stick.

I'm giving it three years as a general guideline. I'm like to where the platform heads before committing, and my kids'll probably be driving then so they could use the Optima.

Keep the SHO. That's a sweet ride, rare one too.

I bailed on my 2016 Optima after I drove the Stinger. There are great deals to be had out there.

So i would have to say. loose the Optima. I had one a 2011 ex luxury before they dropped the 200 hp in the 4 banger because the bottom of the engines would blow apart (sometimes) never happened to me but the forums have had many reports. Kia was good about in Canada 10 year warranty to the bottom of the engine. Make the jump the a stinger and enjoy the ponies. ;)
If you are using it as a daily drive, use ECO mode until you want to make a ass of the guy in the other car.
