Driving an Optima

It was in the dealership for less than 24 hours. I came in Thursday and test drove a black 2021, left and the manager texted me a few hours later that the 2022s were in. Wife and I went in today and drove out with the Stinger.

And then I see the biggest fricken hail storm I've seen in my life in Western Washington! 1/4in pellets. Wife says it's okay, but really!?

Wow, congrats, never heard of that colour. Bet we won't get it here down under.

I think it is new for 2022. For whatever reason they don't even show up on Kia's page.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
The ONLY Ascot Green Stinger; but for how long? :P

I must be colorblind... I thought it was a special shade of dark blue or gray lmfao!

I like the solid green!

This is so great. I always tell people that this car has this thing where even a bit of interest will snowball into a test drive. Once the test drive happens, the hooks are set. I test drove my stinger right after I had gotten an interview for a job at a bigger company doing IT work. I test drove the Stinger as a joke. I told myself even if I get this job there is no way they would offer me a salary that could afford it. I test drove my serious cars which was a new accord, a Veloster N and a Camry XSE. I had just graduated from college with a couple IT degrees and I was thinking there was no way they would start me off at a high salary right? Well a month later I got a call and the next day I drove down to dealership to test drive that same stinger (It was still there) for real this time. A week later after getting a letter from my new job about my salary I drove down in my 2007 POS accord and 3 hours later I drove home in my Micro Blue GT2 AWD. So I could not imagine what kind of patience and strength you had to last as long as you did haha! I hope you enjoy your car as much as I have so far!

I wanted the blue so bad, but there were never any around here in the GT1 or GT trims. I was going to shop some other local dealers but then the 2022 came in and the wife was smitten with the green. I haven't wanted a green car since I was about 10 (dark green firebird) so definitely took me by surprise.

1 - That is an amazing picture! One of my favorite colors!

2 - Yeah I feel you. I test drove an Accord, V6 camry, and many other cars in similar price points. The best bang for the buck and fantastic warranty was what sold me on the Stinger. Plus the performance and luxury was very good! Maybe not as good as the used/CPO S4 or 340i but completely worth it for the dollar.

3 - Do you live/work near DC by any chance? A lot of my friends have been looking to career switch to something IT related and move to near DC for a ton of very high paying IT jobs. I wish I was smart enough to get into that field lmfao... idk where to start though haha! * I have worked in IT and still technically still work in IT but only very basic stuff...

Goodbye Optima, you were a great car.

Bye bye trusty steed! :D

I always liked how the Optima looked. I remember looking at some YouTube videos about them where owners did some pretty solid and tasteful mods! :D

Welcome!
A '22 already? Wow! New color, too. Does it have the updated KIA logo on the front/steering wheel?

It's ridiculous with how many looks this car gets. Wife drove it to work today and got a bunch of compliments and "what is that?" questions.
