Have to agree with the others if it’s got no k’s on it and you’re paying $56K ish including bimodal then you’ve done pretty well. It might be the same year build as mine, but you’ve got all the extra stuff they were too stingy to include on the 2018 model so again you’ve done well.

I thought I’d done well talking them down $5k when I bought mine a year ago. They wouldn’t budge from the full price of the bimodal so I didn’t get it, only to see a few months later people getting the same inclusions as me in 2019 models with bimodal included for similar price to what I paid. They also didn’t mention that a month later when the MY19 was due to release that it would have all the extra features missing from the MY18. Had I known that I probably would’ve waited.

You’re always going to walk away from a dealership with the nagging thought that they bent you over and did nasty things to your exit hole even when you think you had a good deal. It’s their job to bullshit to you as much as possible to get a sale and often they lose track of what bullshit they told you and you use that to squeeze them some more but even when they claim it’s a bad deal for them they still win. They’re not going to offload a car and not make a profit somewhere along the way.

Ultimately for that price regardless of colour it’s a good deal and once you’re driving the car every day you’ll love it so in the end you win, not the bullshit artist that sold it to you.

Yer very good point mate, I am still peeved about the BS but KIA HQ are now looking into it (got an email a few hours ago, just called them a sec ago, bloke says not looked into it yet as he has a few "personal issues" that he had to sort first lol). I even emailed Dealer overnight saying he had not addressed the 2018 vs 2019 issue (he keeps avoiding that point!). He emailed back having a go at me and refusing my offer of shutting me up if he can goodwill me dash mat and front seat covers ($300 retail, would cost then half that)...he told to pretty much bugger off. Accept car and deal now or cancel. Will wait and see what KIA HQ say/do (not really confident they will actually do anything). Maybe I should swallow my pride and the being reamed by a BS'ing Sales manager and take it, but I just had being screwed over.

Funnily, I spoke to my local KIA dealer 30 minutes ago, they can give me a 19/19 with bimodal etc for $64990. I told them I dealer in Melbourne has sold one maybe two 2019/MY19 in last week for $57800 with bi-modal drive away, he thinks that is BS and at $64990 he only makes $1000 on it! Seems sales people all over are a bit creative with what can/can't be done. I asked if that is because Melb dealers buy in KIA's in bulk and get discounts, he claimed no this is illegal?! I might just buy a Mustang now

I asked him if that means he will address my concerns, I was then told KIA can't do anything about dealers. Thought as much... will await call now and wrap this thing up finally one way or another. **EDIT** 5pm and dealer principal has not called/emailed, why am I not surprised?!

Because they only want your money & not interested in you as a customer/person that’s why I always treat these bottom feeders with utter contempt, after I’ve finished with them to get the best deal for me they are only too glad to see the back of me...lol.
So my advice to you is SCREW them for what YOU can get & look at them as a means to an end, they can be such arrogant smug bastards....sting em along.

No, they share the same parent company, when I walk from Southland Kia, I'm walking from any Booran owned dealership. Plus, yesterday I phoned them, they weren't prepared to do a deal given they are owned by the same mob.

Have you tried Alan Mance in Footscray?
They regularly advertise bi-modal exhaust on eBay so they may be prepared to do a deal. At present they have 2 listings @ $1996.

Sorry to say I would have taken the deal and run. When all said and done I will be surprised if you can replicate those sort of $$$. But good luck but as others have said you have more the wiser now.
