• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Stinger arriving soon, questions.

They are useless, phone monkeys just working 9-5 with little or no care factor. I will phone them tomorrow and get right into them so they can't hide behind a keyboard (useless should be kia-board).

That's the experience I had with Kia Aust Hq. I read them a list of lies the dealer had told me ( A lot I saw straight through).
Their response was " To take it up with the dealer priniciple" another words as you said phone monkeys.
KIa dealers are not ready to sell a premium product. It's one of the major complaints in the US to.

Why do they have to dismantle the dash, when putting in the exhaust ?
Because unlike alot of bi-modal exhausts which utilise a switch this is wired into the drive modes and throttle positon, also revs from cluster...Certainly scary to see your new car in bits

Well, that's going to happen to my car eventually after they source one for me

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Aside from the ridiculous price that they charge for an axle-back with no performance benefits, this is another reason I won't order the bimodal exhaust from them - there's too much scope for fun down the track with a dealership mechanic team pulling apart a car like that.

They want $2600 still for bimodal - you can get the Jonny Tig 4" with 3" primary for $2800, and other options from the secondary downpipes back for less...

I was advised some dealerships have dropped that price to $1,300, the dealership I'm going to was aware of that.

the dealer I am fighting about regarding a separate issue still claims that the bimodal is $2,800...I know for a fact most dealers are charging a lot less now...sometimes salespeople still refused to accept the truth even when it snacks them in the face!!!

He’s not in denial because, as with all accessories that is where the biggest margins & mark-ups are which drop right through onto his commission.
Big commission if he hooks someone at $2.8K, the guys greedy.

Ring around and get one of the dealers who are selling it cheaper to send you an email with cost. Then you can waive it under his nose.

Just received an email from this fella regarding my complaint about being hoodwinked and not being told it was a 2018 (not 2019) MY19. I know it's the same and it's almost a 2019 but I feel mislead and conned the whole way. Email in part read....my comments in () to clarify stuff...

sorry for the delay getting back (emailed him mid afternoon yesterday, replied around 5pm tonight) to you we are having a sale and l have 4 staff away so working on my own .Firstly the car is not damaged so please don’t be concerned people always have their Opinium but usually never based on facts .
Kia will sometimes bring stock in and keep it for themselves (ok I'm confused!!) it will stay in bond until its sold so the compliance plate can be several months different than the build date the car is the 2019 model as discussed and the exhaust is on the Kia website just under $2800.00 not $1200.00 (he told me $2600 the other day!)
Other dealers have the right to sell cars at what ever price they want that doe not mean the deal you got wasn’t a great deal it was you have saved $$$ of the retail price and got an exhaust at no cost so overall you have done very well .. (doesn't seem free on the contract I have in front of me!!)
Delivery time for your car is 19 June 130pm delivery delay is due to Kia’s slow processing releasing the car to us once we get the car it takes a few days to get it ready l hope l have answered your questions look forward to seeing you next week when you pick up your new car cheers

Pile of gobbly goop, doesn’t really say anything of substance IMHO.

Right, sorry to bang on like a broken record about my dealings with this particular dealership but despite is being Nov 18 production, May 2019 compliance is $56300 with bimodal, mats and bugger all else a good deal still? I know a couple of you got deals for 19/MY19 for only $1500 or so more but in my case it is worth the hassle to nitpick over 2018 v 2019 if it's MY19 anyway? I'm thinking I should just accept the deal and be happy I'm not paying anywhere near new price....and steer potential Stinger buyers I come across, away from this dealership? Someone encourage me please :D:D:D:D

The price is good but i would like to see a few extra inclusions. Personally I wouldn't accept a Nov18 build being delivered Jun/Jul19 as I believe it would effect resale value and potential total loss market value after a new car replacement period expires. But I guess the $ savings now could offset a future "loss".
Just about all imported vehicles will spend some time in bond and be released on demand as it saves the importer having to immediately pay duties. A ship full of Kia's doesn't come in every month so it makes sense to create a stockpile if sales go a little slow.
The Bi-modal s&f cost is recommended at $2660 per Kia website so in a negotiation I would be looking for well under that cost, and yet it does take roughly a full day to install.
What would I do? Tell the dealer it's not a current build as you thought and look elsewhere. You will probably pay a little more but for sub $60k you could end up with more inclusions.

As @ShannonC said, but in the end what is your gut/feelings telling you?
In the end you are the one who has to be satisfied with your decision, not a bunch of strangers (no offence all) on a forum, it’s your money.

They did the same to me and I told them to give the car to someone else and get a car that had same build and compliance year. They can’t refuse if you ordered the car this year you should be getting a 2019 build so you’re not pulling the sale just requesting what you signed for. Sorry it would be a no deal for me. Did you sign the paperwork for that states a 2018 build 2019 Compliant?
