That's how the black chrome thing is, atleast that's how I received it and going through old photos it's like that, too.
Look to the left on the first pic it’s the black strip at the very bottom of the front apron.

For the clips in the bumper, one of them had crackedThe bumper pins have been released inder the grill , a firm push will reattach that , you'll hear them click into place , as for painting that its a breeze , forget the pens they dont match , order some OEM paint in a spray can from Automotive Touch up . I painted the passenger side of my bumper this week after I repaired a much more serious scratch and it turned out great .............check out post #5963 above , I hope it helps with this !
If the product is only good for 6 months, or maybe a bit more, I wouldn't waste my time. Better to get something more durable and do multiple coats so that it lasts 2-3 years.
Did it click back into place though , you can probably be fine with one missing ................good luck !
