3.3TT Kia Stinger Aftermarket Exhaust Information and Discussion

Really seriously thinking about the Xforce Varex setup for my 2019 AWD GT2. Can anyone who has one installed give me any information as to install, drone, and what they think of the sound. Thanks

I am thinking that same route but just buying the Varex mufflers from Summit Racing and having my muffler guy install them.

Yeah it sounds really great, my concerns were more about waking up the neighbors in the morning and the sound to be annoying on the highway.
I had a fellow last week tell me he liked the exhaust sound ,, I love the Borla catback except in early morning starts as I have a to only let it run a few second then then shift into gear ,, as not to bothers the neighbor s but after it is warmed up on the road it is just divine :))) he he

The drone is pretty bad under 2000 rpm under load, this is mitigated by driving in Sport mode. It is by no means quiet when the valves are closed, and it is not extremely loud when the valves are open. However, for the money it is easily the best option as it includes mid-pipes, and it has some interesting fluttering character in the exhaust. This will be the quietest exhaust with the best performance as even when it flows freely the muffler acts as a second resonator (my theory), as a result I keep my valves open at all times.

Because you have AWD it may not fit very well for you, in general the fitment is bad, and the problem most people install it incorrectly which compounds the fitment issue. If I didn't have this exhaust I would probably buy something much more expensive such as Tubi, Frequency Intelligent, both of which come with their own mid-pipes as an option.

since you're in South Korea I guess you had opportunity to hear a couple of Jun Bl catback exhaust.

How would you compare Jun Bl's Gt and racing catback exhaust?

And how would you compare them to Borla's S-Type catback?

I want a catback that gives me that roar when I floor it, but I don't want it to be annoying while cruising. Yet I don't want to spend 2000 bucks and then be desapointed by how quiet the exhaust is.

Jun Bl's build quality seems to be way higher than Borla's.

Any input will be appreciated,

Thanks!

Sorry, I just saw this message by chance.

=>Yes.

=> I had the JunBL GT on my car, but I don't think I have ever heard the Racing other than in video. I liked the sound of the GT version but it had a bit of drone from 1800 to 2200rpm, which was annoying when passing someone while cruising on the highway. (mild acceleration at cruising speeds)

=> Almost all exhausts have a bit of drone at cruising RPMs. The only exhaust that has none was the RES titanium EVC exhaust, that I kept for 4 months or so. No drone, but the sound was not pretty so I finally got rid of it. (3500bucks...)

Jun Bl's build quality seems to be way higher than Borla's.
=> I can't comment on that, but in Korea there seem to be a consensus on the fact that the best sounding exhaust is Borla.

I have the JunBL down pipes attached with the Borla Cat back ,personally I love it !! and when I hit the fuel hard ,she roars with a mission lol ,,just saying , now I waiting for the return on my Stinger GT AWD as this paint sucks ,, all scratches and I am getting my car repainted under my insurance ,, so using a loaner car is really depressing lol OMG too quiet .

now just another quick note ,, when I had just the Borla cat back with stock mid pipe ,,I had no drone anywhere and with the JUN Bl mid pipes added ,, I have mild Drone on long hills and on flat road s or mild grades TBH at 90 kms I turn my air fan down so I can enjoy my exhaust notes :) I will keep my exhaust like this un less forced to change it lol :)

Do you have the newer version of the varex system with added "hotdog" resonators on the midpipes?

I mean obviously if i have it on its a kia option.
Their front page also has a stinger.

They make it for both the 2.0 and 3.3. I believe they sell it through theShift in S. Korea.

Right now there is no other way to get it besides email unfortunately. payment is through paypal so its easy to pay. But at the moment since shipping is per person basis(for now) emailing the guy is unfortunately the only way :( Hes pretty nice though although can take some time to answer.
Sorry about that. I meant tubi's exhaust. I didn't see anything for kia

Has anyone done their own piping and just bought racing mufflers? Reason why Im asking is im thinking about the option but I'm not sure what mufflers are good for a clean sporty sound.

The Borla Cat back is 2.25 inch in diameter and matched with the Jun BL mid pipes ( DPs) I have all fit well and the Borla has million mile warranty, so the build is not bad, but with the those mid pipes which removes the one secondary Cats , causes my turbo spool up quickly but with just the Borla Cat back and the rest of the exhaust still stock worked very well and lots of Roar when pushing the pedal lol

So we are saying the midpipe will help it spool faster?

It lets the exhaust out faster in partnership with the CAI and it spools up quicker and pulls hard

I might consider getting it for NGM then. I dont imagine having drone if I keep everything else the same

It just sucks to pay 400 for a midpipe when its just 50 bucks in material

Yeah true enough, but I heard it is even more pricey to have one made from scratch unless you can fabricate it yourself but I bought mine :)

Yea. I dont even think theres a bend. I almost feel brave enough to try it. I can weld but its not pretty. Lol

It’s actually significantly less expensive to have one made at an exhaust shop. I was quoted $360-$450 installed at two local shops. That’s about half the price of Junbl secondary DPs and they are custom made for each car so no fitment issues that some prefabricated ones have.

Thanks for the input,

sure, EVC is an interesting option but the only EVC exhaust I could find for sale in Canada is Jun Bl's, which, first, I don't think sounds amazing from what I've heard, and second is 2800 CAD, which is quite a lot.

Ah, and there's also Tubi's, which I think is around 5000 CAD.

But if Kunstwerk's EVC exhaust is made available here for a reasonable price I could consider. Any idea when it's gonna be for sale here?

Another option?

Just installed my Kunstwerk secondary cat delete to my Kunstwerk evc racing cat back and it is awsome. Sounds even better than the posted clip. Very good quality, perfect fitment, and great customer service. I do not think anyone would be disappointed. Of course if you want a louder exhaust but do not want to hear it like OEM than stay with oem.
