3.3TT Kia Stinger Aftermarket Exhaust Information and Discussion

I went with the Borla catback and it sounds great....especially in the morning. It sounds fine when cruising as well. I have many compliments from people I have passed by.

Yeah it sounds really great, my concerns were more about waking up the neighbors in the morning and the sound to be annoying on the highway.

Most people just dont care for the drone in borla's exhaust. its there, its the trade off you get for getting such deep tones. Their quality is okay, just standard stainless steel with standard quality welding. Waking up your neighbors is the exact reason i went with an evc option. I just click it closed in the morning, wait till i get to the main road, and click it back on. Secondly most nice sounding exhaust seem to have drone on highway use. Mine has almost no drone but its loud in eco mode at around 70mph and i just prefer it off in those moments. Honestly having the ability to shut valves closed for any exhaust is amazing, especially if you plan to go catless mid pipes or down pipes.

Is that actuator part really worth a 2k exhaust? I was thinking about buying a cheaper option and then installing the actuator at a shop. Idk if theres more to that evc exhaust thou. If so fill me in please. Also has anyome seen the muffler delete exhaust from veonline? They have a youtube vid of it. Sounds nice from the outside but I cant reach them thru email becauze it doesnt work. Their pricimg looks pretty cheap but they are in Australia.

Drone can be removed from good loud sports exhausts if they're well tuned, and that can be done without solenoid-controlled valves.

The solenoid-controlled valves control volume (and do so by restricting flow). Drone is a completely separate issue, and is to do with reverberations due to sound waves bouncing and echoing within the exhaust itself at particular frequencies (generally associated with the rpm of the engine and the load it is under at the time - drone is common at low rpm "cruise" for instance).

well its not a bit under 2k and no the evc piece itself only adds on like 200-300 of cost on. i could have done evc with anything like Manaz said, but i really dont like the sound of most and drone is something i completely would not have. Since my exhaust has no drone, has crazy craftsmanship, sounds amazing and is evc is the whole reason i put more money into my exhaust. Honestly besides borla, i dont think most exhaust come close to the sound.

I'm a firm believer of you get what you paid for. My friend's BMW M3 Exhaust sounds fantastic and it cost him $5000 USD

I agree to a point. Theres a limit for sure. I can see paying more for the catback but the rest could be just piping. Btw, where could i get a tune if my exhaust has drone? Would a dealer touch that?

Thats most likely an ecu tune if i had to guess, and a custom one at that. meaning you'd be in the ballpark of 1000+. almost getting near the cost of another exhaust.
best cheap way to eliminate drone is probably take it to any muffler shop and have them add i believe it was a resonator. a few people have done that with their exhausts in previous posts at least in another forum.

Thanks for the input,

sure, EVC is an interesting option but the only EVC exhaust I could find for sale in Canada is Jun Bl's, which, first, I don't think sounds amazing from what I've heard, and second is 2800 CAD, which is quite a lot.

Ah, and there's also Tubi's, which I think is around 5000 CAD.

But if Kunstwerk's EVC exhaust is made available here for a reasonable price I could consider. Any idea when it's gonna be for sale here?

Great question, I would like to know if this would be available in Canada as well.

A dealer will almost certainly not touch aftermarket tuning. Some will fit aftermarket exhausts, unusual to see them doing aftermarket air intakes though.

ECU can have an impact on the sound your engine makes, but you can't tune out drone - drone is caused by certain frequencies of sound within the exhaust note interacting with the sonic properties of the exhaust system. This is why resonators are often used in exhaust systems - their purpose is to remove particular tones from the system - tones that cause drone.

Be careful going catless - it is generally a breach of environmental rules for cars.

What is the issue? Not allowed to ship to Canada?

Im sure it could be sold anywhere. just not sure what shipping costs to canada would be like. the price for the evc version is $1650. so whatever shipping is on top of that is your final price. The US website yould be done end of may or early june. but the exhausts can be pre purchased by talking to the overseas sales manager via email. You can DM me if you want to talk to him or I can inquire on your behalf.

I looked in kunstwerk and didn't see any kia options.

Really seriously thinking about the Xforce Varex setup for my 2019 AWD GT2. Can anyone who has one installed give me any information as to install, drone, and what they think of the sound. Thanks

I mean obviously if i have it on its a kia option.
Their front page also has a stinger.

They make it for both the 2.0 and 3.3. I believe they sell it through theShift in S. Korea.

Right now there is no other way to get it besides email unfortunately. payment is through paypal so its easy to pay. But at the moment since shipping is per person basis(for now) emailing the guy is unfortunately the only way :( Hes pretty nice though although can take some time to answer.
