Since I received my Premium in February, I had the notion that I was going to get it tuned to increase the amount of daily smiles this car brings. I thought to go the Lap3 route, but decided to wait to see what others were going to put out. RaceChip mentioned they were going to start tuning the 2.0T and that came into thought, but they've placed our motor on the back burner to focus on other applications. I get it and totally understand.

Several weeks(maybe months) ago I reached out to Terry at Burger Motorsports about a tune and he was open to the idea, but wanted someone to stop into their shop for fitting. No takers that I'm aware of.

Over the course of several weeks, I would stop by the N54Tech forums that are run by Burger Motorsports to check on any updates to the stinger platform and read the comments people were posting. Once comment had me thinking... Someone asked about ByteTronik which looks and operated much like the jb4. Then, Terry from BMS said they've license the jb4 to ByteTronik and recently took back ownership of tuning for the platform. ByteTronik has a product for the 2.0, so it seems like the jb4 would also work. So I sent an email to Burger and asked if it would work and got the reply I was hoping for, "yes it does work for the 2.0T"! :D Then BMS got the CANbus working and I was sold.

Placed the order last Tuesday for the jb4 and jb4 connect kit, was told the package will arrive on Saturday. The day comes and anxiously checked the USPS about delivery, notified they cannot deliver since nobody as home to sign. But, I was there! Looked at the time, saw that it was within minutes and proceeded to drive around the neighborhood to collect my package. I found him!

Saturday involved regapping my stock spark plugs and installing the jb4 all of which was very straightforward. The only issue was that the jb4 connect kit was a brand new version and would not connect to the device. I contacted support and they sent me a beta version of their app, which I installed this morning and worked!

Overall very happy with the purchase and install process. the stock tune peaked at around 14lbs of boost and map1 peaked at 19lbs. I'm sure there's an overboost function to get to the 19lbs. No codes and no issues thus far, but its only been a few days.

I tried map 2 and got a misfire during WOT, looks like I'll be sticking to map1 for a while.

I will @Rufus!

We need to plan that summer gathering/drive too!

Hello Jeaddi, I'm wondering if you have any updates. Any more misfiring with Map 2 after changing to HKS spark plugs? Perhaps (or perhaps not) you've done before and after dynos? Many thanks in advance!

Car is running great and I’m loving the added power. I did not do any before and after dynos, maybe sometime in the future, but no plans yet.

Would WMI be advisable on our 2.0L Stingers? JB4 has Map 8 for WMI, anyone running it yet?

WMI is supported on the 2L! If you're out of mods to add and don't have good fuel access it's a good way to go.

Thanks Terry! Will your new PnP nozzle adapter work on our 2.0L charge pipes?

That I don't know. You'd have to try it.

Hello everyone! Just got my JB4 and HKS plugs. I'm going to gap these to 0.22" and start with map 1.

Anything else I should do? Is map 2 possible for the 2.0T folks like us?

Hell yea on map2. That was my daily drive mode.

Oh hey again Bryan! So just regapping HKS's is sufficient? No need for fuel wires right?

Any other potential problems I should note? It's my first time doing this kind of stuff so excited haha.

It’s all good buddy. It was the same for me. Yes, gap the plugs down and good to go. You can add a fuel wire if you wanted to as it’s now functional on the 2.0 but not necessary. I had plenty of issue free miles with mine. You will love the added power.

That. Is. Awesome.

My plugs will be here tomorrow as well as my gapper for the 0.022" regap. So I'll have all that installed and good to go this week! Thanks again!

Hell Bryan! Quick question. Do you know if this fits Kia Stinger 2.0L? It says it's for Mitsubishi Evo X 2008-2015 but it has the exact same part number (Part # 50003-M45XL).

HKS M-Series Super Fire Racing Spark Plugs

So what is the update after installing the plus and gapping. Is it running problem free? I am looking into this myself.

Hey there! Sorry for the extremely delayed response. I must've missed it.

It was running great until Map 2. In CA, we don't sell anything higher than 91 octane, and I didn't have fuel wires either, so I ended up selling it. Map 1 wasn't bad, but that alone didn't worth the half a grand I forked out for the mod. Couldn't take advantage of the full potential. My car also had issues related to pre-ignition during that time. This issue eventually fixed itself via the knock sensor (probably - but the problem went away on its own nonetheless).

Have you done anything else performance-wise since then that you would say is worth the money?
