DBLs — Dark spot in the center of beams?

I'm not trying to be cheap here...but anybody want to pool some cash so I can snag this headlight and do a little testing for us?

Your first picture is super bright. Is that with high beams? I have a feeling my light may not be bright enough compared to past behickev j had.

Took that pic months ago, not sure. Snap another next time I'm out at night for comparison.

Thanks for the pictures! Dam that is legit bright. Mine are not that bright. Will be taking it in this week then to have it looked at. Not sure how they will base it off what is regular and not. They might just say it's normal and if I try and show them these pics they might just say the phone is blowing up the light. But we shall see. haha.

Does everyone with GT2 DBLs also have a noticable dark spot where the two headlight beams meet in about the center of the roadway in front of you? Wondering if there is way to eliminate that spot. Are my headlight beams out of alignment perhaps?

Kia and Apple conspiracy. Notches are the rage now.

How'd you make out?

I actually brought it in last Friday. They told me nothing was wrong with the headlights and that they were fine. They said the service manager was not in but when I come back to get my seat warmer toggle fixed I can show him what I meant .I mean idk if it's the phone that shows the brightness but mine do not light up that far. Hopefully they'll give me a call once that part comes in and I can show it to the.

Photos won’t do anything. LUX readings will

The dark spot always seem off center (to the left) when I drive down the street where my house is on, but had it checked and they are positioned correctly.

It's where it is to help prevent glare for oncoming drivers, but honestly I feel the beam is already low enough at that point and it's more of a distraction.

I have a headlight on the way. I am going to crack it open and see what type of projector these cars use and if one can be swapped in.

If no projector swap is available, I'll try to get a suitable clear lens in there.

Dealer looked for about 45 minutes, and then I was told there is no option to adjust my GT2 headlights any higher.
If anyone knows of a way please let me know!!
Had the same issue with my Optima, the lights were adjusted at the service centre but after couple of weeks had to adjust them back because other cars kept " flashing me " they thought I was on " high beam "

I believe the notches, when at their aligned spot, are for the benefit of the driver of the oncoming traffic as in to prevent blinding the driver.

It’s arrived! I’ll begin the tear down soon!

The lens is trashed, but the rest is 100%

What will you be doing with it?

I am going to remove the OEM LED projectors and see if you are able to modify them for a better cutoff, and remove the DBL dark spot. These appear to be very good projectors, however I need to get them out of the housing to do a little tuning on them.

Secondly, going to see if there is a suitable and compatible projector to replace the OE LED projector, I.E modified Koito projector from Toyota/Lexus for much better performance.

Nice, what about deleting the amber reflector and replacing it with a white one, like on the euro models.

I am also looking into this. I tried it on my Optima and did not look good, since I did not have a replacement reflector. The Stinger might be the same case here, but will post photo's once I get the lens off and the headlight torn down.
