If your wheel sticks out of the fender you will lose in straight line performance due to wind resistance.

That is a bizarre comment.

None of us are off-roading in our Stingers so I think it’s safe to say that it isn’t anyones goal to have a 4x4 look with their wheels sticking out of their fenders.

19x8.5 +30 will yield a perfectly flush front wheel fitment on a lowered car and +35 will also look good on stock suspension.

Would this size not rub lowered? With stock tire size or? Thank you . I know 0 about wheels and tires, except what looks good..lol

My bad, I didn't see that you were talking only about the front wheel. (+30 sticks out a lot on the rear.)

No. Best tire size to run on that size of wheel is a 255/35 for a nice square look. You won’t rub with lowering springs.

For the rear a flush fitment is 19x9.5 +35 on a lowered car.

For a square look a tire size of 275/30 or even a 275/35 if you want more sidewall. Both of those sizes are within 3% of the stock rolling diameter which is where you want to be.

Why do you want to be within 3%? Just for speed?

Isn’t 275 way too big to put on an 8.5” wheel? Or may look a little funny. I thought 255 was the right size for 8.5”.

Please read carefully. I was referring to the rear in that post you quoted with a 19x9.5 wheel. A staggered fitment will look way better than running 19x8.5 on all corners.

If you’re going 19x8.5 square then a 255/35 tire is best. You’ll want a more aggressive rear offset though if you want it to look flush in the rear.

Why do you say a staggered setup will look better? Never heard of aesthetics as a reasoning for staggered vs square.

Everything I have read prior suggests a staggered setup is for peformance purposes not aesthetics.

I think
Speed and brake failure are the two biggest reasons.
I've never heard about brake failure before because of a tire larger than 3%

It allows you to run a wider wheel in the back. A wider wheel provides more concavity for a more aggressive look.

Incorrect. A staggered setup used to increase performance on a rwd car. Allowing a wider tire on the rear for more traction when putting down a lot of lower, and slightly skinnier tire up front for better cornering performance. A really wide front tire won’t corner as well. You should do some homework before giving opinions stated as matters of fact.

Again, please read carefully. All I said was that it looks better. I didn't say you were wrong in that a staggered setup is best on a RWD car.

Take a look at post#352. You can plainly see the difference in concavity between an 8.5 wheel and a 9.5. An 8.5 square setup is going to look more like post #345.

And I'm sorry. I'll stop trying to help with your wheel fitment. Best of luck to you.

Google is your friend here. Search for a tire size calculator. It will tell you all you need to know.

If I understand what you are saying...

The flush size really depends if your car is lowered or not.

1) if stock:
19x8.5 +35
19x9.5 +40

2) if lowered:
19x8.5 +30
19x9.5 +35

What about the tyres? does it depend on the suspension too? I see most people fitting

245 40 19 in the front
275 35 19 in the rear

What is your opinion on this setup? would you suggest an alternative?

Yep exactly right on the wheel specs. For tires a 255/35 front will be nice and square with no stretch. Anything less will still look stretched on an 8.5 wheel.

275/30 or 275/35 for the rear will be square as well and either size is fine, just depends how much sidewall you prefer.

I’m currently on 19x8.5 +35 front and 19x9.5 +35 rear with the stock tires. I don’t like the stretched look so I’ll be upgrading to 255/35 front and 275/35 rear tires when these are shot.

I’m also adding a 5mm spacer to the front to get my offset to +30 for a flush look. I’m lowered on Eibach pro kit.

SKStinger, where did you buy your rims at? also thanks for your help with this.

Np. Bought mine locally at Graham’s Tire. I know online retailers either Quattrotires.com or PMCtire.com carry them as I compared pricing.

My plan this year is to get a set of rims and the pro kit.
I want to avoid buying through the US due to the exchange, unless I find something super unique.
Looking for the most aggressive stance, with in reason and keeping drivability as a daily commute car.
