So I've just purchased a dragy and over the next few months plan on running the following experiment with a rwd GT stinger (has the lsd):

Multiple runs before each mod using various fuel types and configurations - runs on e10(94) and 98 petrol (curious to measure the difference) sports v smart mode, launch control on/off.

Will document extra weight carried (e.g. Passenger plus fuel reading), temperature, psi and fuel type, setting used and whether launch control was utilised. For sake of research, will try to be as consistent as possible.

Runs will be conducted on the same road.

Will record:
0-100km/h
0-60km/h and
0-20m.
Pending safety and availability, I'll be running some 1/4 miles.

After stock measurements, I'll drop in k and n filter panels into stock airbox and repeat.

Then spark plugs and jb4 and repeat.

Then eibach sway bars and repeat.

Then window tint and repeat (that's a joke BTW).

Then a downpipe and repeat.

You get the picture.

I admire your enthusiasm.

You make my OCD seem normal by comparison so for that I thank you.

I’m not taking the piss out of you.

Truly, I’m not.

Sweet! I'm not sure you can measure 0-20m though without it being part of a 200m run or 400m run (1/8 mile or 1/4 mile), but I could be wrong.

Great! Keep us posted :) It's nice to see someone as devoted as yourself!

I like this. I did this over the summer when I hit the track. Used excel to document each number and weather data. I only have up to a CAI and JB4, so far. So my data sheet will be added to as i enter my next stage of modifications.

That's the most fun way to to do!

The next step for my documentation is to merge my csv logs for each run so I can have quick access to go over the numbers and compare.

Date - 21/12/2018
Average of 2x runs measured with Dragy

Car - GT RWD (with limited slip differential)
Mods - None
Additional weight carried - +140kg
Petrol - E10 94 Octane (AUS)

Measurement / Time (secs) / Slope
  1. 0-60ft / 2.32 / +3.82%
  2. 0-60kmh/ 2.65 / +2.4%
  3. 0-60mph / 4.91 / +2.19%
  4. 0-100kmh / 5.12 / +2.19%
Conditions
Temperature - 23 degrees celsius
Road Type - Standard Street
Dryness - Damp
Humidity - 75%

Car Parameters
Tyre PSI - Front 35 Rear 37
Tyres - Contisport 5
Tyre age - 10000km
Mode - Sport
Gearing - Automatic
Launch control - Yes
Traction control - Disabled

Comments
Conditions weren't too bad but road has residual dampness from prior rain. Didn't pull as hard off the line and rear lost traction a little but the car held its line pretty well.

Next Steps
Plan to get a few more readings in drier conditions, with less weight (1/4 of fuel) and more weight (with partner in car) and experimenting with LC v non-LC auto v non-LC paddles gifting before dropping in some 98 Octane (AUS) and repeating, after which will buy K&N filter panels for the stock airbox and repeat.

For the benefit of the community, what should be the first mod made to the car after I post runs on 98 octane.

Options:
K and n drop in filters
Sway bars (front and/or rear)
Down pipe
Jb4
Or something else not listed?

Drop-ins, because a lot of forumites wonder if they aid with performance.

I've got Agency Power Intakes inc and I'm debating them.

How are the agency power intakes?

Okay so panel filters first, potentially followed by the big mouths to funnel the air flow. Will order in a week after a cycle through the E10 and test on 98.

I also have some new logs to put up soon. Slower than previously posted but the roads weren't as "sealed" and high temps sent tyre psi up to 40/41 which I assume wouldn't help with traction.

Sick. I am super curious if those big mouth intakes actually change anything at all. Appreciate you sharing the data man.

Logging data for the runs would actually make this even better. Just a suggestion!

Does anyone use a cheap solution to log data that they could recommend? I only use the JB4 and that's way too much mullah for just logging, though I do think that it or a tune should definitely be on your list. Best bang for your buck by a long shot, especially because it makes other mods worth even more!

Will be getting the Jb4 most likely. Potentially looking at lap3 as an alternative but price is quite high on those.
