Am I the only one that finds it amusing that KIA has a section about using a dynamometer in the owner's manual? I get it, the car isn't slow, but that just seems unexpected to me lol.

This is just crazy talk! Are you saying that above 60 MPH (KPH, which is it?) there is no AWD going? That AWD tracked cars are toting c. 200 lbs of useless weight through the corners? That the "electronically monitored suspension" is functioning without AWD? I don't pretend to know a damned thing. But unless a couple more "sources" chime in here, agreeing with you, I'm going to assume my cap of morbid skepticism and believe that you are mistaken on this one.I am going to revisit this, studying document after document this is something that KMA (Kia Motors America) refuses to publish other than subtle hints about making this car RWD.
I've looked at the AWD system and how the canbus communicates with the AWD system. This fuse in only live, under 60KPH. The entire front end of this car, is turned off and we do indeed have 200lbs or hurling axles, and a front diff just spinning and not doing anything, this is the main reason why we have no CEL. or error codes on the dash. Zero power to the front end over 60MPH. By removing this fuse, in theory the car decouples the clutch and there is ZERO chance of it engaging. I would like to put this car on rollers and a multmeter showing when power is applied to this circuit and study it a bit more. Seems like a simply fuse tap/relay switch to convert AWD to RWD.
Why? I am going to put a LSD (Limited Slip Differential) in mine, and one day have the ability to go RWD at the track.

I just did a little office cul de sac testing.
Vehicle Off, doors closed, hood open waited one minute. Removed 20AMP "4WD" Fuse. Started vehicle and sat for 5 minutes prior to moving, shifted to Drive and drive slowly, and I mean slowly for a quarter mile. Zero lights, wasn't really sure it disabled anything.
I decided whatever, punched it and jeeeeez. 100% RWD, zero lights, power steering working. It was truly a RWD setup. Even laid down a little rubber. I will continue to make small trips to and from the office on back roads to see if the ECU/TCU catches anything and report back. I will know resume my search for a LSD (Limited Slip Differential), since the open diff is a bit sketch lol
Maybe I'm misunderstanding basic electrical theory, but would a missing fuse not be the same as a blown fuse (break in continuity of the circuit)? Unless the fuse box detects whether a fuse is inserted or not, wouldn't a blown fuse create this RWD situation and not trip any dummy lights? Seems potentially hazardous in my opinion.
Speaking of dyno testing, I wonder if anyone has dyno'd an awd with the fuse out. I would think it was be more since 200lb is not connected.

And you are 200 lbs overweight.Confirmed.
45 miles with no fuse. Every function from smart cruise, ABS, and auto start stop remains functional. Seems like all we need is a LSD (Limited Slip Differential) and we have best of both worlds.
