Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

Finally upgraded the tires. Enkei RPF1 18x9.5" rims, some half used 285/40/18 Nitto 555Rs we had on our M4. The stock 19s and tires were 58# each, these 46#. Look decent, may do the front to match, if traction is improved with these.

@Terry@BMS, how do you switch tunes or perform updates on the base unit? Or must you but the connect kit?

I was going to hold off on that purchase....at 140.00.

Will the base unit purchase also allow me to run data logs?

You don't. You install the base tune and enjoy it, or drop $35 on a data cable to connect to your laptop for logs and map changes using the free windows and MAC software. For the phone stuff it's $170 total for adapter and app.

So, basically if I’m adding the fuel wires and need to see the logs to monitor detonation... I’ll need the data cable or Bluetooth? I looked and saw “starting” at 35.00 and didn’t realize it was actually 170.00 for it.

We can’t use TorquePro to log because it won’t be accurate with the piggy back correct?

@Terry@BMS ... if We don’t connect the OBD2.... what options are lost?

Looking forward to some new dragy times with the new tires!

Rear tire vs front tire height difference won't cause any issues?

Logging is optional, you don't need to "log to monitor detonation", unless you are doing custom tuning and running very aggressive mapping. Something that would require connectivity in the first place.

JB4 needs CANbus data via OBDII to provide advanced tuning. Logging needs to be done via the JB4 otherwise boost and other functions won't be accurate through generic OBDII devices.

Certainly won’t being that it’s RWD. Other than the unleveled look shouldn’t be an issue. An AWD system must be kept close to the same diameters, RWD could care less, that’s why a lot of RWD cars run true staggered set-ups like a 20” rear/19”front.

I get what you're saying but staggered setups still use close to the same overall diameter sizes. In your scenario of 19 & 20 the front wheel would just have a slightly taller tire than rear.

Unless it's a Plymouth Prowler.

What I meant was, there’s several RWD cars that run a taller tire in the rear. No coffee yet.

When are we getting some numbers? Turkey can wait! Let's see what DRs are capable of.

Started raining over here so will need to wait for the track to dry out. :)

Terry we have everything that you make for the stinger running map 3, 93oct, fuel wires, plugs and our own intake with out a problem. We’re getting it on the Dyno tomorrow to look at some things and then putting tires on her and racing Sunday. Will post all that for you guys when it happens.

Im going to buy your pedal tuner, but is there any info out there about gains with it installed? I like the product. Wheve used them on evo X and Mazdas in the past.

No gains from the pedal commander, just throttle tuning.

Pedal tuner is all feel, no actual performance. On the JB4 shoot over some JB4 logs if you want tuning advice ahead of time, to ensure it's running as strong as it should be. :)

I’m going to order the data cable for the short term and I guess the fuel wires. Is there any benefit to running the base map with fuel wires? I see dynos of map1 with wires.

And do the fuel wires add additional safety?

Map 1 JB4 only +29whp/78wtq:

JB4 with fuel wires +50whp/70wtq:

You get an extra 21whp from map 1 by just adding the fuel wires, so in theory gains should be similar on map 0 too.

Fuel wires technically add additional risk since over leaning an engine is dangerous. But following Terry’s tested recommendations should be completely safe. Again it’s best practice to run logs after every change just to make sure things are running smoothly.

JB4 fun today. We’re starting from base. Gt2 RWD. Stock everything. Map 0 and 1 compare. 46deg at the shop. 93oct. Mustang Dyno. Fuel wires

Map1 stock and map1 intakes. Not much difference.
