Stinger Enthusiast
Well while Stinger is a good first try from Kia I’m looking into a true GT car now. 2018 Porsche 911. Driving experience for me in 911 is just so much more engaging. Porsche feels more solid, sound is out of this world cool. Performance makes Stinger feel well a bit boatish. 911 is more comfortable and easier to get in and out of as I’m 6’4. More head room. And car is just drop dead gorgeous. Likely to jump into a 911 at end of this year.
Perhaps issues I have had with my Stinger are related to first model year but lots of little irritating things that I have never dealt with in my ownership of multiple Porsches. But still fun to try Stinger . I still think it comes up quite short of best from Germany but if you’re looking for budget $35k GT car I’d recommend the BaseStinger GT RWD with LSD. Hard to go wrong with a Stinger GT at $35k price tag. To me once Stinger goes over $35k it’s a bit out of its league.
I may hang on to Stinger as my beater commute car if I can get all rattles and sneaks out of cabin. Creaky dash, rattling sunroof , etc are driving me crazy. I have a long list of warranty repairs for when I drop car off to dealer. Other day my lsd made a big clunking noise as I put in reverse. Is that my next failure? Add that to wobbly rotors, paint defects, stereo issues, transmission hiccups. Suspect car will be in for a week to address all issues. If it comes out fixed I will likely hold onto it to keep miles off the much nicer POrsche.
