Annoying seat belt reminder chime....GONE!

Or you can mind your own business, and pass on lecturing adults because they don’t follow your lifestyle. I get it, you’re the type of guy trying to tell the rest of the world what they should be doing. Carista allows further customization that only dealer s can do, not just seatbelt chimes.

Agreed.. I always wear mine but won't preach to others as I do believe it should be a choice for adults as you aren't risking anybody else's life by not wearing it... same with a helmet.. There are many instances where people would have lived if not for the seatbelt..so it is what it is.

Many? That link has ~30 “headlines” all the way back to the 80s. And most attribute injuries to the seatbelts but don’t mention they would have died if it wasn’t for the belts.

If you want to have a terrible opinion that’s on you but at least attempt to have a solid backing for your terrible opinion.

I'm sorry I'm not god or as smart as you, but they are examples and I'm not into telling other people how they should live their own lives, but I guess I'm more of a " I'll worry about myself" kind of person. But please continue letting us lesser people know how insuperior we are to your all knowing ways and how we should live.

Jesus. f*cking. Christ.

NOBODY who is grateful for the info shared here is saying it's OK to not wear a seatbelt in normal driving situations.

EVERYONE who is grateful for the info is simply saying they have situations where ON PRIVATE PROPERTY they would like to be able to operate their vehicle without being yelled at every two seconds by some automated equivalent of the safety Nazis who are so quick to cast their judgement upon them.

Holy f*ck, people. Learn to differentiate..

There's a good chance you didn't read all of the posts.

Just wear a seatbelt, thus chime problem solved, go & have a chat to Emergency Services personnel who have to attended accidents & deal with the aftermath of not wearing a seatbelt, remember these people have to live with what they see everyday & so many lives lost unnecessarily by not wearing a seat belt....so please everybody listen to the chime & buckle up & enjoy life.

The other thing that solves the chime problem is removing the white wiring harness plug under the drivers seat. I've had it out now for a few days and no ill effects. I can now roll into my garage with my belt unbuckled and not have the car make noises that sound like an 80's video game.

Thanks again to the OP for sharing this find.

I wonder what the insurance stance is with this? Does it void your warranty?

Private property i can see the situation but most of these posts indicate that people are driving on main public roads.

Do what you want...do what you like. My only question, can we as a community part out the rest of your vehicle when you die because you didn't wear your seatbelt on your private drive and then you forgot to put it on right before you entered the public road and WHAMMO!! DEAD!! I'm probably most likely being too dramatic, but I am one of "those". And I find this type of subject to be similar to the "texting on the phone while driving" thing. As in, "I only do it when I'm at a stop light...blah".

"I only don't wear my seatbelt in limited situations" <<>> "I only text when it's 'safe'"

Here's my stance... always wear your seatbelt when in a moving vehicle and never text and drive. There I'm done. Maybe.

...oh and don't even get me started on the blinker thing! It takes a half a second to put your blinker on so I know what you're doing!!!

Sorry, rant off. :lipsaresealed:

I'm sure he'll go for that as long as we can part out yours when you die from being in an accident while wearing your seatbelt. A seatbelt is not a guarantee against death in an accident. I'm with you on the texting though because now you are putting my saftey at risk. If you don't wear your seatbelt, you are only putting yourself at risk which should be an adult choice, as is eating that greasy burger and fries and smoking.

Its your car , your seat belt , do what you want ............................really !

Please teach me about the studies that show not wearing your seatbelt is safer than wearing one.

whoa...the post you quoted said nothing about that! It did state that seatbelts were no guarantee to saving a life.....I saw no mention of the latter.

Then why even bring it up, no one in this thread is arguing that seatbelts make you immune from injury or death. It’s irrefutable that you are safer in every situation wearing a seatbelt than not.
