Looking to hear your review on the Nitto’s, that’s the one I’m leaning towards as Nokian don’t have a full set for my staggered setup. On the noise front, Summers are typically noisier than AS tires. The quietest of the bunch will typically be Grand Touring tires, which typically have better snow performance than other AS tires but of course that’s brand dependent. I would go Pirelli again if they had a AS + that wasn’t so expensive for my wheels.
Wow, I am continually amazed at my assertions which get dashed by reality: in this case, that sounds like it is going to be a good thing. I had not, before my Stinger entered my life, ever had "summer tires" cross my radar. An almost non existent tread pattern seemed to provide a quieter ride. Logical, right? And the many times that I have asserted the "fact" that my Michelin summer tires are as quiet as any tire available, I have not been called on it till now. I more impled than asserted, now that I think about it. But either most people don't read what I post, or most people don't read for full comprehension: because my mistaken notion about tire noise being less with summer treads should have been called long before this! Hmm!?I'm looking forward to your thoughts. I love my Motivo's, especially the quiet and softer ride. I don't feel the road imperfections near as much as the pilots.
Anyway, I am even more excited to try out these new treads this afternoon. If there is any noticeable difference I will hear it right away. If they are even quieter than the Michelins I will be slightly gobsmacked.
