SON OF A BISCUIT!!
While detailing the car, I lifted the wipers (a common thing to do in the northeast winters') To clean the windscreen properly.. The damn hood is in the way, or vice versa, I need to pull the wipers off there studs and remount a few notches up the windshield. Preetty sure no one did this yet, or had they?!

You should have read the manual and we have posted about this before. You have to park the wipers first.

whatsyoutalkinboutwillis?
''park'' the wipers?! The car is parked the wipers are off and the wipers should lift clear of the hood.....Maybe it's my neanderthal ways, but if the wiper arms were set properly at the factory, why is it a problem with these cars?

After you turn the car off you have 30 seconds to hold the wiper stalk up & the wipers will move to the vertical position thus allowing you to pull them away from the windscreen, hence “park” position.

this is the dumbest thing I have seen on such a simple problem! How can you engineer a car with such great acuracy, both handling and maintaining....that the wipers can't be lifted unless they are ''parked '' upright......I'm not liking this one bit, I'll move 'em up a notch instead of pressing buttons and moving wiper switches.......wow.

Thanks.......I'll see how far the wipers go vertical before I even try and relocate the wiper(s)

This keeps the wiper arms below the level of the bonnet thus assisting with aero dynamics of the vehicle & any potential damage to them in a frontal collision & pedestian protection if you unfortunately & god forbid hit someone, this is deliberate engineered into the car.

yeah, uh , no ...my tough luck if something happens.....

Ya have to understand one thing, winters here are unforgiving, the ice cakes on the car entombing it. the blades ,if not lifted before the storm, will surely be damaged or at the very least abused. If 1 or 2 notches are not a quick fix, I'll have to live with the adjustment ''park'' wiper scenario. Thanks for the heads up, I really thought it was just my car that was well, this way for lack of a better term.

All good, I have no experience with your type of winters & don’t take this the wrong way & I have no intention of living in a climate like that, only maybe to visit, anyway summers coming down here.....yippee!

the white fluffy snow flakes that are picturesque....may seem quaint, but when they gang up, and it does!! it is truly hell frozen over,lol....but it does help us appreciate the other 3 seasons which are quite nice, minus the heat, humidity, rain and fog,lol

I couldnt imagine living in a frozen environment like that, I’d have to hibernate like a bear until it’s over...lol, anyway we’ll be thinking of you all on our +40c days, long hot & dry summer is forecast for us, we are already in a bad drought here on the east coast of OZ, bushfires are also our enemy in these conditions.

aye, mebbe a little daydreaming of our winters will help you get thru the inferno that awaits you, at least the stinger a/c works well, lol.

Snow is not unknown in Korea so you would expect they’ve factored that into the design.

Can you put something like a tarp over the wipers to prevent snow entry?

Even a garage would help....lol

Stinger gts ss you've really hit some form lately:laugh:. Should also tell them two weeks into spring and NSW is in 100 % drought, got our record 47c last summer too. What's snow again?

I did mention the drought, at least the forecast for next Saturday is for clear skies & looking forward to it.
Snow is just ice & ice is what you put in drinks....lol

And don’t forget to tell the workshop that too else they will damage the paint aswell. Don’t let anyone else wash your car!

Anyway back to the topic of interesting discoveries. I found out today that the boot release (that’s trunk for our American friends) doesn’t work with the vehicle in any gear except park. I pulled up today parked but was still in drive, hit the button nothing happened. Put it in neutral same result. Gave it a crack in reverse just for scientific purposes same result. So my high tech experiment revealed that it only works when it’s in park.
