Interesting Discoveries Thread (Good or Bad)

Were you trying to lock it with the handle button? My Stinger and the wife's Sedona both will scream if you press the handle button with the a fob in the car, but if you lock it with the button on the other fob (while far enough away that it doesn't think it's in the car), it will lock the door.

I also think it'll prevent you from using the door button to unlock with the fob that's already in the car (you need to bring the second one back out), but that could just be my wife being crazy.

Yes, using the button... thanks for figuring this one out. Now the wife won't have to dig it out of her purse when she wants to leave it in the trunk

But, it works well on the highway. No bikes.
Except not always. Bikes are allowed on the freeway in lots of places where there is no other viable option. We are talking about the wide open wilderness of the West. I-70 is a good example that allows bikes to use it.

I just read in the manual that in Eco, "The engine noise may get louder." Eh!? That is counter intuitive. I thought that Sport was louder. What makes Eco louder?

When you floor it in the passing lane and eco mode lags:D:cautious:

It doesn't lag. It says "no more Eco!" and just takes off.

Funny that you mention this because my BMW 328i is noticeably louder in Eco mode, especially when I'm coming off the throttle, and I have no idea why.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned on the other 33 pages of posts of interesting discoveries but has anyone else noticed that when you change into sport mode the digital speed reading on the HUD changes font and cants slightly to the right

LOL! Nearly six months in, and I finally, FINALLY, "discover" how to turn the display screen off without having to open and close the door. In Settings, at the top, there is a button that says "Display Off". Duh! I knew it was somewhere, it had to be. I just never saw it until today.:p:p:p:p:p

If I don't do anything, My radio will play a random tune.....just one, then shut itself off.......now that is weird!!

honestly I don't know of any car with an auto trans that DOESN'T kick down a gear with the pedal on the floor. my buddies '91 prelude did this in highschool and it would piss me off that he would yell "overdrive!" when it happened since overdrive is pretty much the opposite of dropping down a gear...

You are apparently not a Commander Cody fan....

So, since "discovering" how to turn the display screen off, today I double pushed the starter button to be able to engage the windows without having to turn on the car. I lowered all the windows, made sure the AC was off, the media was off and then turned off the screen. In c. a minute, on the blank screen, I got the warning that the battery is being drained. By WHAT, pray tell? The entire car seems shut down to me. So what was draining the battery? I waited for there to be some indicator that the car automatically turned itself off but nothing signified. When I pushed the on/off button to the media center nothing happened. The car was truly off by then. I still don't have a clue what was "on" in the background, to cause the warning not to run the systems without the engine running.
