• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

YVR Stingers

So what ya say @westcoastGT, doesn't look like there's not a lot of enthusiasm with the YVR crowd:sleep: Do you even think it's worth the effort for us to try and rally the troups up for a get together?:geek:
I think once Summer is over and people get back into their routines we will get some energy focussed on this ..............can you get your dealer to give you all the names of the Stinger buyers they sold to , I'll do the same and if a few other members from other dealerships join in we can get a good data base ...........of course they all have to pass the TEST ......................bawaaaaaaaaaa:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Hey guys! I just bought a Stinger GT2 (Thunder Grey w/ Red Nappa) just over a week ago. I'm having a blast driving this machine. I've only seen like 4 Stingers in the past month or so. Hope to bump into some of you guys one day!

Welcome to our slowing growing group of local owners. 4 Stingers spotted in a month, took me about 4 months to see that many. Where in the City are you located there's a few of us here on the North Shore. Enjoy the forum lots of great info here. Cheers:)

I'm located in Coquitlam but I'm in Vancouver quite often since I work in that area.

Yes! I'm totally down if it fits my schedule. Any set date/place for the meet yet?

Nothing proposed yet but a few of us are interested and will reach out in the next few weeks .

Hi, I just bought my stinger Oct 18th. I'm in Vancouver. I've only seen 2 stingers locally since I first found out about this car a couple months ago. Would be cool to meet and talk to some owners .

Welcome to the forum. Yes the Stinger does seem to be a rare sight in Vancouver. Myself and WestcoastGT are both on the north shore and are planning to orginize a meet up at some point. So you are on our list now! What colour are you? Any mods planned?

Yay more Vancouverites! Welcome to the club Sushi

I'm totally up for it if my schedule will allow. I bought mine in thunder grey. My preferred colorc would have been atomic blue but nobody has those. Unfortunately, I also couldn't find a thunder grey with red interior.
I just spent a lot of money so I'll be on hold for mods for a while but eventually the first mod would be putting in a cold air intake and maybe change the blow off valves. Further down the line, I might consider the eibach stuff and catback exhaust but I prefer my card to be more stealthy then obnoxiously loud. I'm still a beginner when it comes to car mods because I'm never done them before. I'm going to save up some money first for ppf, ceramic cost and tinting. I'm still looking around for a good detailer that's not too crazy on the price.

Yay more Vancouverites! Welcome to the club Sushi

Thanks. Glad to be here.

I’m also on the North Shote so that makes 3!
Looking forward to meeting up.

not sure if he’s out there but almost everyday I see the same white stinger (just like mine) on my drive from the North Shore to New West. Hello if you’re on here!

Time to upgrade that "Guest" status and join the team. Great to have you check in. How long have you owned? Where abouts are you on the N.S.?

Do any of you guys have winter tires? I normally run A/S year round but since I've got these nice summers now, I figured I might as well get a dedicated winter set for when the temps drop below 7degrees. While I'm asking, anyone know a good place for future ppf/ceramic coating and tinting for a quality job and reasonable price?

I just got my winter tires installed yesterday. I visited the 1010Tires in Richmond and they were extremely helpful. I went with Fast FC04 Wheels in Titanium (18x8, +30, 5x114.3mm, 72.62mm) and Michelin X-Ice Xi3 Tires (225/45R18). For the TPMS valves, I bought them online (you can find the oem ones on ebay, just search up 52933 J5000), and they took around 1.5 weeks to arrive from Korea.

The wheels and tires set-up with installation costed $2,161.64 and the TPMS valves were $81USD. Michelin is also having a $70 rebate right now, so that's always a plus.

Went in on Tuesday, the 15th, to purchase the wheels and tires and got a call yesterday (Friday, the 18th) saying both the wheels and tires arrived. I dropped by later that afternoon and they got everything installed along with the TPMS valves I brought. The TPMS valves calibrated themselves after around 5km of driving.

Did you buy the wheels and tires from 1010 tires? I've read that I need some special lug nuts or something? I'm not too familiar when it comes to buying aftermarket wheels and ones that aren't the OEM size for my car. $2161 seems a bit pricey, I might try and shop around.

Yes, I bought both wheels and tires from 1010Tires. I'm actually not mechanically inclined either and don't really understand all the different sizings that comes along with buying aftermarket wheels and tires. I just did my research prior in this forum, and they made sure everything fit properly.

2 grand for a winter set-up definitely was quite steep for me as well, but if you break it down by component, it is actually not too outrageous of a price. The wheels were around $215/each, which I believe is decently priced considering it has a winter-approved finish. The tires were a bit over $200 each as well. You could probably find something that is sub-$200 though. If you use this set-up for 4 years, it's gonna be around $500 per season which does not seem too bad. Don't think you can go too much lower if you are planning to buy a complete wheel and tire set-up.

Whatever you do though, don't drive through the winter with those Michelin P4S summer tires.. you're gonna have a bad time !

Thanks for the advice. I definitely picked a bad time to buy a performance car with UHP summer tires. I haven't even gotten to really feel the performance yet but they have performed admirably the last 2 days driving in heavy rain on highway 1 with a nearly 300kms on it. I'm definitely rushing to get a proper winter set.

Can I ask where you are storing your summer set? I don't have a garage or space inside but I've read about tire storage services. I might hit up kal tire and see what options they have for me too.

Also forgot to ask, you said the tpms you bought were $81USD. Is that for a pack of 4 or per sensor? I'm leaning towards each right?
