I'm doing the exact same rebadging as you (inspired by your Kia Motors badge) and I agree. It's not about being ashamed of the Kia name, it's just that that badge is kind of ugly and having a special "Kia Motors" badge will make the Stinger appear as special as it really is.
Oh I agree 100% with the motorsports badge, and actually have the silver and black one at this point. To me its about all the other custom badges that are floating about specifically trying to mask or hide all together the car's origins. I'm proud as heck that Kia has stepped up and made the car, and for me it was just the logical next step as a happy owner thats moved from a 2010 Forte EX, through a 2013 Optima SXL, and Finally to my 2018 Stinger GT1. Out of all the cars I've had, the Kia's have given me the least trouble.
Genesis wasn't too crazy about the winged emblems popping up all over in the U.S. for exactly that reason. I do wonder if Kia has something in mind with the letter E...if you think about it, when the big three in japanese cars wanted to go high end, they changed the names of that division. when oldsmobile tried to change it's image, it went with that odd rocket ship logo, no oldsmobile name anywhere. and it tanked. then we have vw that made the phaeton. basically a bentley with a huge vw badge, and it tanked (could be because lots of the interior stuff didn't work correctly, but still) people balked at spending 80 + on a vw. now we have 100+ mustangs, corvettes and dodges. if i remember correctly, remember i am old, i had read that kia/hyundai were thinking of spinning off seperate sport/high end divisions. so it could be that kia is going start using its own "k" or "e" logo and that fact that we are all clamoring for them has got them all upset because we are jumping the gun. or, it could be that they are pissed that they hadn't thought about making more of those badges.
Clearly since the new Atlantica is badged properly...at least partially.Genesis wasn't too crazy about the winged emblems popping up all over in the U.S. for exactly that reason. I do wonder if Kia has something in mind with the letter E...
I've had cars chase me down to film the car , I'm completely rebadged with E , Stinger ,3.3T , and GT 4S ....................people think this is some new "exotic" ...........when asked I always tell them exactly what it is .............the response is aways the same ...............varying degrees of "WOW", I had one of the first BMW 650 Cabriolets in our locale and never had anywhere near as much attention and interest in the car , go boys !!
...................it sure does !Ypu really have to be a shallow pinhead to worry about the badge on your car. What does it prove? Are you one of those people who put perception before performance.
My avatar says it all.
........................nooooo its all good keep yer drawers on !! ( theatre of the mind !!I don't think many people here who swap badges are "worried" about any logo. It's an aesthetic choice people are choosing to match what they'd like to see on a car they own. I'm not "worried" about what other people think of my facial hair, but I do like to trim my beard now and then to look nice and tidy because gruff lumberjack isn't the look I feel like sporting.
Edit: Although to be fair I am a conformist in some aspects of life. For example I'm always wearing pants or shorts even when it's hot out. If I was brave I guess I'd walk around in my boxers.
Yes and with regards to your avatar you have been asked a number of times to change it. It would be appreciated if you did. Please refrain from analogies that some of our members who have changed their badges are shallow pinheads.Ypu really have to be a shallow pinhead to worry about the badge on your car. Yes, keep them to yourself....Well, you're entitled to your oPINion... and you know what they say about opinions...
I respectfully disagree, it's having intelligent conversations around divergent thought that makes life worth living - it's about HOW you express it that makes it worth listening to...in my opinionYes, keep them to yourself....
