Would you buy another Stinger?

Didn't know that. That 2.5 looks like a realy nice compromise to 3.3. If 2.5 option was available on stinger when I was shopping for one, I really don't know which one i would have chosen.
I like that the Smartstream FR G2.5T has both MPI and GDI, so no worries about intake valve carbon deposit build-up. Also, it really is even more fuel efficient than the 2.0T, even though it is 25% larger displacement. I was originally a bit skeptical of the EPA numbers, but after commuting with it for a couple of weeks now, I can say definitively hwy mpg is indeed 1-2mpg better on average, compared to my 2.0T.

Downside though, is the roughly 200 lbs weigh gain vs. the 2.0T Stinger. Kinda difficult to believe it's all in the engine. I'll have to weight the '23's stock wheels to see if they are heavier than the old OEM 18's. Not much else has changed AFAIK.

I'll also check the curb weight of the new 2024 G70 2.5T to see if there is also a corresponding 200 lbs increase.

Honestly, If my Stinger died now...I'm not 100% sure. The reason being the market: The only ones avaliable seem to have a lot of mileage on them. Believe you me: if Ishara died I'd want another Stinger!

I would want the 3.3TT - personal preference from always wanting to own a twin turbo V6. Not that I have any disdain for the 2.0T or the 2.5T; I just wanted, and would like to keep, the 3.3TT.

Most likley I'd go with a G70 if I couldn't find a low mileage Stinger. I don't think it looks as good as the Stinger (personal preference), and I love the liftback of the Stinger, but I think it would be a solid 2nd choice all else being equal. A bit more expensive but still a good bang-for-the-buck at the expence of the liftback.

Everything else out these is kinda Meh. Either I'd be paying more for a nameplate, or things in the price range wouldn't be as-good in my opinion. Plus, if I went with BMW/Mercedes/Audi, I'd have to stop using my turn signal, start parking in front of fire hydrants, and taking up multiple parking slots--especially handicapped spots! (I kid! :p)

Probably not. I don't believe I've ever bought the same vehicle again in my life (be that the stinger or any other vehicle I've owned) simply because I enjoy variety and change too much to keep the same thing going.

When it's time to move on from my '21 GT2 I'm probably going to go with an M440i xdrive gran coupe and mod it to around 600whp or so (whatever the limits are before the trans start to slip - not gonna spend crazy money on a built trans). I love the Stinger but I'm itching for more power and its conveniently in the same package (4 door sedan with a hatch)...

I bought a new Stinger GT Twin Turbo V6 in January 2023. I recommended them to a family member and bought a second.
There are only 5 Brand New Stinger GTs left in Australian March 2023 Build. There are no more

Australia did not get the Tribute edition because sales were so strong here and regular stock they never would have sold one at a Premium price for a standard featured Stinger GT

I would definitely buy a second and a third if I could.

Funny, I said the EXACT thing about a year ago, I’ve never bought the same car twice. I was looking hard at a 440I M sport, I drove a couple and the Stinger does everything but significantly cheaper, not only initially but the maintenance costs of a bimmer…..then I was looking hard at a Q50 Red Sport, until I drive a couple. Ended up buying another Stinger.

I have been wanting to make the jump to an Audi RS5, or S7, but the more i think about it, i can't really justify the cost of getting one of those. I honestly like the look of my modified stinger more than either of those. the S7 has that retractable spoiler that makes me drool, but the performance is about the same as a stinger. I would still need to spend lots of money on mods to get it to look like i want. So for now i think i may just go from an 18 to a 23 stinger, but maybe a different color, and some different mods i've already been looking at.

Did you drive the gran coupe trim?

I've been watching used 2022 m440i xdrive gran coupes and it seems that you can grab one with around 20k miles for $48k or so. Similarly, a 2022 Stinger GT2 with 20k miles goes for around $40k in my area. So roughly $8k more to get into the beamer.

Modded B58 cars are deep into the 10's 1/4 mile even on the stock turbo. Relatively cheap to mod just like the stinger, but way faster as the b58 is simply the superior platform.

That reminds me of another point. I was fortunate enough to get a 1.9% APR at 72months on my 2022 GT2. I very much doubt I could get that financing again anytime soon, given today's interest rates.

Frankly if something happened to my Stinger then I'd be eyeing an Elantra N real hard. Or a WRX for the AWD.

I didn’t, I really wanted one but the horrors of the maintenance on my M5 haunted me every time I drove one. Stock for stock they’re pretty similar and I don’t plan on modding as it’s my work vehicle primarily. If it was my hot rod the stinger would not be my choice. Definitely a superior platform for modding and there are a lot of low mileage examples on par with used stinger prices, tempting for sure. It’s crazy how well the stinger holds it’s value compared to used bmw’s, Mercedes etc.

I hear ya, if you're not planning to mod then the Stinger is DEFINITELY the best choice!

I did it! Insurance totaled the black one so I bought another one. 2019 GT1. Picked it up in Dallas and drove it back to Austin. Car was exactly as they presented it plus it had a few options not known by the seller. Free extras were lowering springs(poss Eibach), front and rear sway bars(poss Eibach, red w 2 pos. adj.), and pedal commander. Car drives straight with no noises, brakes don’t vibrate, pull hard, everything works. Whoever owned it previously, took really good care of it and maintained it w KIA (not always a good thing I hear) but at least it’s documented. If this used to be yours, hmu. And thanks for taking good care of it. I will continue to do so.

Congrats! We got our SWP with red interior in DFW as well. I like our HiChroma Red Stinger too, but this pearl white on red color combo is the Schnitzel.

Those 20's though... I visit my oldest in Arlington quite often, and I wouldn't want to drive there on 19's, much less 20's. I hope where you live in Austin has smooth roads.

Traded in my 18 for a 22. Now the modding starts. Added exhaust yesterday. Next week new wheels and black E badge. Black GTT2 badge, alternate stinger script, and rear spoiler after that. Black side vents, and hopefully I figure out an easy way to black out the rear bumper tips.

I'd also like a vented carbon fiber hood wrapped in body color. Front splitter I'd like the Adro V2 splitter but I may just go with the one i had on my last stinger to save some cash. All these mods definitely aren't cheap.

excellent. now, get it under a garage and let's have no more of that freak hail nonsense crap.

on previous owners taking good care, I have yet to see a poorly maintained stinger. at church last week yet a third - or fourth if you count our second one - stinger has appeared. someone's 'brand-new' my18 gt2. what are the chances? and even less likely, this one is a silky silver too.

I did. Bought an '18 GT. Drove it for 5 years. Got the chance to get a Tribute and I jumped on it as there's no other car I'd rather have in that price neighborhood.2stingers.webp
