No gain to both but there are advantages and disadvantages to both. BTW these are just my opinion and I have no real science to back it up.
Meth can be easy to find if you have a speed shop. E can be easy to find depending on where you live. SO.... even so far...
Both take an afternoon to install and can be complicated if you are not mechanically inclined. So... Even so far....
Both act as a 7th injector so to speak. So... even so far...
Meth can run out but you have a whole tank in the car your feeding off of with the CPI kit. Win for the CPI
Meth has a much higher octane rating, 110, but if you water it 50/50 it dilutes that.. BUT, the water still assist in cooling the charge temperature significantly.
Ethanol is hard to beat when it comes to cooling. It burns at much cooler temperature than gasoline as well— decreasing the chances for hot spots and thus pre-ignition. Though we are speaking about E85 or 85% ethanol. With the CPI kit, I've heard max E50 and some have maxed out around E40. So that diminishes the gains significantly. In addition, Ethanol contains 30% less energy than gasoline, so you have to run 30% more fuel to compensate for that. (Thus the CPI). In addition, E50 is only 96+ octane if you run it with 93, and 95+ octane if you run it with 91.
My personal opinion, and the best possible solution is running an E27 mix with Methanol. The CPI will come up a very close second in performance. CPI win for maintenance and upkeep.
