Hey everyone, as you all are aware the US models don't have the Wireless Charging pad that the other markets received. I really, really wanted this in my Stinger and was disappointed to find out it wasn't included. They should have at least left the tray so a phone fits inside that compartment easily.

Anyways, I found a diagram of the console area and was hoping there were others who would be interested in retro fitting their Stingers with the Wireless Charging pad. I figured there would be enough demand to warrant it's own thread so we can all follow along and hopefully get some dialog going to get the part numbers and everything figured out.

From the diagram it looks like the retrofit will not be hard, as long as the parts needed can be sourced. The US spec Stinger has a dedicated USB port for charging. I bet we can tap into that connection to power up the Qi wireless charger in the event the harness for the Qi charger is different.

I agree, it looks like the harness is the same so I think it would be a pretty easy switch over if we can source the parts.

if anyone wanted to try a retro fit without trying to source the original Kia parts, I found this one wireless charging pad that's only 3.1 inches wide. a standard sticky note is 3" for reference. it's very slim and .5 inch thick. I haven't found any narrower or smaller than this.

I actually really just want the space that the OEM wireless charger takes up. It doesn't make sense to me why they made another mold instead of just leaving the pad without the charging capability.

Just for some heads up guys, forum member here ordered wireless charging console from me and will try to install it in his car to see how it fits and if everything works as it should. As jongkihong mentioned it's popular modification in Korea but we have to see if this will work on US spec stingers or not. He will post a DIY so we will finally know if it works or not and how difficult the install is. He is willing to risk some money and effort for all of us. Will keep you updated on the matter and I'm sure he will post to.

I am super pumped to hear this, thanks for sharing! I would totally be interested in doing this myself, if I had access to order the parts @TuscaniCustoms "wink wink"...

The attached file
Do not look at the exact part number ...
I know the exact part number ...
We have also found finsheet and complete wiring diagram ...
Because I am not an engineer
I do not know whether it is installed or not.

I do not know who your supplier is ... (seems to have a supplier in Korea)
I have two consoles in stock.
And if a wireless charger arrives
I will confirm that it can be installed as an aluminum console.

$300+ just to charge your phone wirelessly!?!? You guys are nuts!

Is that such a difficult thing to believe? It's an entire OEM car part that also has to be shipped from a third-party reseller. Wireless charging is incredibly convenient, so if you can have it, why not get it? It doesn't seem that difficult to install, either!
