Will I regret having the base GT suspension?
It's either the base GT or wait until I buy a used GT1.

Not in my opinion, it’s not like other cars where it actually changes something. The modes in this cars biggest change is what it says on the screen

I notice a slight difference on extremely bumpy roads when placing it in Comfort mode. It is enough to keep the wife from bitching about the rough ride so I’m glad I got it.

all depends on preference, but I read every review I could from the pros/semi-pros. I prefer the standard suspension in this case:
1. Sounds like it has a more firm ride in general, which I like. The wife drives the car 50% and she's happy too
2. I'm going to keep the stinger 10+ yrs and struts do fail and I saw the price of the active suspension was 2-3X the std struts
3. The active suspension on the stingers are old tech (IMO) - I'd only pay for the magnetic kind
4. Std struts weigh less - the car's a little portly as it is, any bit will help
5. Simpler is less to break

Get the base, install Eibach rear sway, you're set.

I agree, in the suspension context.

I had the GT before this GT2..I would not miss the GT2 suspension at all..the GT I liked and thought it was the perfect combo of comfort and performance.

Let me be devils advocate.. if you are gonna buy the GT1 why not the GT2 with all the toys and nappa leather? Why not go bold?

GT1 has the better shifter, but the GT2 love that HUD..really depends on if the extras are worth it to you.

I don’t think you’ll miss the active suspension. It’s hard to tell the difference. But I also have never driven a base GT so not sure how it drives, but did have a base 2.0 loaner that handled well and had a comfortable ride, likely because of the 18 inch wheels. Have you driven a base GT and GT1 back to back to see if you even notice a difference?

I can tell the difference in suspension modes when driving "in the hills" - tight, technical curves pushing the limit of traction. I don't know, however, if the base GT suspension tends towards "sport" or "comfort".

If you don't plan on really driving it hard on roads like that (or a track), then I doubt you would miss it.
