No thought, just “action” is required.
agreed, not sure when and where I'll really get to use the extra power. not been to drag strip since mid 80's but may have to head there if I grow a pair and install the JB4. traffic down here is a B, have to drive to survive with all these crazy A$$ drivers on the roads.
Currently, I am on an anti heat which seems relevant to those at all stages of
mods and power. Love the injens (only mod), but noticing extreme differences in under hood temps. yesterday ran to the grocery store and back in the afternoon, sunny and 70-75 degrees. mostly traffic light to traffic light and did not go easy but certainly not racing by any means. after pulling in drive way and popping the hood, it was hot as hades in there... intake tubes and filters were too hot to touch, very hot.
this morning I drive to office, 15 or so miles freeway followed by two miles thru traffic lights, cloudy 55 degrees, and ran pretty hard a few times 60 to 85mph on freeway and a good turbo whoosh loud pop from BOV at the light before the office (?not sure that is really a BOV...something similar?). anyhow, popped hood immediately after pulling in parking lot and tubes and filter cool to the touch.
only a matter of months before its 75 to 95 down here for solid six months, so a bit concerned about the heat.
feel somewhat confident I can remove the bumper after reading all the instructive posts etc, so soon to order the
snorkels, and looking at what I can use to make a shield b/w filters and engine as well as possibly wrapping the intake tubes with some heat reflective tape like material I see on amazon.
sorry for the long rant which may be a bit off topic here (procrastinating doing real work this morning) but seems like combating heat in whatever form is never a bad next move, especially down here in the south as it seems the outside temps are having significant influence under the hood.
