What was your first car?

Never saw one of those! Then again, I live a few miles away from where they're sold... :p

Lol, they were tough cars probably would have made the few miles over to you in its day

I will admit I was spoiled when my parents bought me a brand new car when I was 16.

But it was a '95 Camry LE.

Exactly, you just put it into boat/float mode and sail away. :p

It may not have been the coolest car - but a nice car none the less...

The first car I owned was not a 'Stinger' but a 'Singer' - a 1963 Singer Vogue, a luxury version of the Hillman Super Minx, complete with imitation lacquered walnut dash. It's life ended when I collided with a cattle beast one rainy night on the highway. A very solid vehicle as I found out - no crumple zones so the poor animal absorbed the brunt of the impact. No injury to driver apart from minor bruising caused by the seat belt. I bought it cheaply for about NZ$800 in 1982 and had it for less than a year. After the collision, the tow truck delivered it to my home, where with a few bits of lumber and a hydraulic jack I was able to straighten out the front enough to re-start the engine, although the radiator was 'munted'. My car was similar to the one pictured below, with red 'leather' upholstery. My Stinger will have red upholstery too....

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
1970 HT Holden Kingswood (Aussie made GM vehicle), 6 cyl. 3 on the tree, 4 wheel drum brakes, purchased 1975 for AU$ 1600.00, you really had to drive cars then, not like today. It was similar to the picture below but mine was white.

My parents had a white one with a red vinyl interior. It was a great car - 186 Cubic inch in-line six, solid and reliable and was used to tow a caravan all around NZ. After I got my license at age 15, my parents let me take it out for dates, and I thought I was pretty cool with red seats and a three-speed column shift since the auto version (GM Hydramatic) only had two gears...

That's a pretty cool looking car. It doesn't look at all crumple-zoney to me. :p

Luckily I have a great job developing software and have been waiting for an amazing sporty yet functional car. Plus I am 23 which I think is pretty late for a first car.

The funny thing is in 2011 I actually saw this car with my dad at the LA auto show when it was a concept (pictures below) I still can’t believe I got this car :cry:2D910FFB-74D1-42CE-84D9-D4405292BAC2.webp 118D3AF1-654F-4D2D-BBCE-F242107D2750.webp 6D120036-86C6-4DFA-8DF7-41F3652D54C2.webp 6904F876-AE49-4BD6-9EBD-DBA6D18C0121.webp E4C981A1-BC47-40EA-A1AD-A292C1A1CD3C.webp CB9F6A98-3BDF-4A97-A9A0-DC1F8A2E4893.webp

Wow! Great photos! Thank you for posting them up! Look at that - with the red reflector on the back sides... These are great shots. It sounds like you've been waiting for this car for 7 or 8 years! Good things come to those who wait. And, well, having a lucrative career helps. :p

Right! Everything but the front looks really similar. Such a beautiful car I walk my dogs like 30 times a day now just so I can pass my car :p.

Congratulations! Just imagine what your future cars may be like!

If the Technocrats have their way, they'll all be autonomous safety bubbles with no capacity to exceed certain acceleration and velocity limits...

My first car was a 1985 Mitsubishi Magna SE, the same model pictured and the same colour in Silver. Ah...memories.
One memory i will always remember was when travelling along a one lane each way roadway, when approaching me was a truck from the local Army base, just as we passed each other, i saw something flying through the air, almost like a boomerang would, within seconds it swung around and hit the windscreen and got stuck half way through the glass, exactly at the height of my chest, if it had got right through it would have pierced my chest. Later on i found out it was a steel square shaped metal with a number on it, called i believe a tax plate, it slides in a holder on the rear of Army trucks.

That'll probably happen - but hopefully not in our lifetimes...

Jeez. That was a close call! For goodness sake... :o
