What ONE change or feature would you add to the Stinger if you could?

Funny thing about this. Back in 2018 when I test drove a GT1 on the fly, it had the normal parking delio. I was then waiting for them to run the numbers and I switched to buying a GT2 that was sitting on the showroom floor (she was sexy). I didn't even think about the park button (I was in awe that day). I did all the paper work and they had the car sitting outside waiting for me. The guy did a quick "tech" run-through, but nothing about the parking button. It was already started, so I put it in drive and off I went. I then looked at the "shift by wire" as I was cruising and thought...where in the hell is the P? I didn't even look at the button. I'm thinking...what the hell am I going to do when I get home? No joke! I was thinking...I'll slowly pull up to the garage and turn the car off (using the start button) and if it moves forward at least it just hits the garage. Once again, I was in awe and stuperment. I did remember the "auto hold", so I decided to pull over before I got home and used that as a way to "park" while I looked around. As I'm looking down...there it is...the P button! In any event, that's what you get when you do a fly by test drive and fall in love.

That reminds me of all the test drives I did of various stingers over the course of like 3 years so I got familiar with all the bells and whistles. I pulled the trigger as soon as the refreshed 2022 models landed and spent hours trying to find the now removed g-force meter and the AUX plug. I knew they got rid of the unique key fob when I test drove the 2022, but it still stings (lol).
They blanked out the sunglesses cubby too but you can jerry rig it from the older model parts.

yeah that sunglass thing in my 2018 was used more than I thought. I bought my 2023, drove off and went to put my glasses up there and  Here's my problem, it's like a woman. I get all in love, get married and then I find out she has 12 kids from a previous marriage and has two glass eyes. The two glass eyes aren't the issue as I have sunglasses for her...but 12 kids is a whole lotta tator tots to cook!

Wait, they removed the aux in the 2022+?

What is the advantage of buying a 2022+ gt1 when they removed half the features and charged more for the car I'm sure? Besides maybe the screen and the updated tail lights?

Probably why I rarely see a 2022+ gt1. Most of the refresh cars I see are gt-line.

Personally, I own a base awd gt, cuz it was significantly cheaper than a gt2. I wanted to buy new in 2020 so I saved a bunch of money (even though I shoulda just went the gt1 route).

I just ordered my LSD (Limited Slip Differential) from somewhere in the UK. It is from a donor RWD Stinger 2.0 gt-line with only 12k miles on it.
Looking forward to fitting it before winter.
Thanks for the heads-up!

Nice! The first one I bought (pics in earlier post in this thread) only had about 14k mile IIRC and the shaft oil seals looked perfect. Everything buttoned back up fine with no oil leaks. I would expect yours to be that way too.

The second one I just bought has some 35k miles on it. The seals also look to be in good shape, but I bought a new set anyway, out of an abundance of caution, because I really do not want to have to pull the half shafts again. For less than $50, the new seals are a cheap insurance.

The two sides are actually different... apparently directional.

I no longer use the roof mounted sunglasses cubby. I've had two pairs of sunglasses ruined by the intense Summer temps. The heat crinkled the anti-reflective coatings on the lenses, which produced an annoying haze that render the sunglasses basically unusable.

If you live up north... probably okay.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

that's another thing ... the later model gauges. i've seen the earlier model (software version?) of the gauges in the cluster, and they were far easier to read. the round "gauges for ants" in my '22 are almost unusable - they really could have made better use of the display screen space to make them larger and easier to read without all the wasted blank space. also, the nixie tube radio display was pretty cool, even though i never use the radio ... would have been nice to have and not sure why that was taken away.

is that how the gauges look now? I had no idea, that is just stupid.

This does not sound like a vehicle specific issue.
That would be very annoying

It doesn't help we live just off the Texas Gulf Coast. Hotter than Hades 6 months out of the year. You can broil eggs and bake croissant on the dash in August.

When my first pair of sunglasses got ruined, I didn't quite make the connection. Then I started using my back-up pair, and the same thing happened. Needless to say, I don't use roof-mounted cubbies in any of our cars. Okay... maybe pizza rolls when I 'm hungry for some hot snack.

That's why I call it the GT 0.5.

How about.. proximity door locking. Walk away from the car with the key fob and the doors automatically lock. And also touch unlock instead of pressing button on the door handle. They can do it on a Honda Civic they can do it on this car... maybe also a dual clutch transmission. Shifts seem a bit sluggish sometimes.

My 06 Acura would lock the doors after like 10 min no matter what. I miss that feature now, I've come back to my stinger a few times and realize I left it unlocked, sometimes overnight. So simple it should be a menu option.

My old Acura would also honk if you pressed the lock fob more than once. SO handy if you forgot or unsure, just press it twice and listen for the honk!
If I can't see my stinger I have no way of confirming it's locked, gotta shlep back like a pleb until I can see the blinkers or the folded mirrors.

One pillow too low, two pillows too high

What single thing would you change or add to the Stinger if you could have it as a proper factory option? Maybe a V8? Manual gearbox? Wagon body? Rocket launcher? Or just shave 500lb?

I'd love to have the adaptive air suspension like the 911 Dakar or RS Q8. Second would be a PHEV system.

Minibar.
