What is the Stinger Target Market?

I hope one of you gets tired of arguing soon.

The Stinger has German influence in its bones to its skin. It costs a lot less for the same amount of goodies; the Germans have some quality edge here, but not enough to justify the added thousands of dollars you have to pay to get that badge. Looking at size and practicality alone (the deal breaker for me) no other true GT comes within $20K of the Kia Stinger. It took a full winter of looking the car over for it to sink in: the Stinger is uniquely appointed in all essentials, at a price that didn't turn me away.

Here's the problem, on one hand, you're saying they share "almost every feature" on the other you're saying you didn't mention "materials, build quality or service." To most people build quality, material quality, and service are "features" that are shopped during the buying process. Throughout your comparison, you're purposely omitting "features" that paint a positive light on the S7 and focusing on "features" that make the Stinger look better. This is the very definition of bias.

Guess I'm the minority...when I think of features, I think of tech.

Sure, tech can be a feature. The word "feature" isn't limited to what technology is present in a car. Even if that was the definition of feature the A/S7 would still have more advanced "features."

Regardless, the definition of feature isn't "tech." Build materials, ie; Nappa leather vs vinyl seating is a feature. It's also a build material. It isn't a tech.

The understanding I'm getting here is that a "feature" is anything that makes the Stinger look better and nothing that makes it look worst. Amirite? 'courseiam!

I've been on quite a few car forums in my day, but have never seen a site with such "fanboyism" as this one. If you say one thing semi-critical of the Stinger you're automatically a hater.

The best part is the hypocrisy, though. So many people on here constantly compare our cars to ze Germans. Saying that while they may be nicer and/or faster, our cars are a much better value. That they'd gladly save the money to have a car with near the performance. Then, some dude starts a thread about the Ford Fusion Sport and got bashed for it. Most people were saying how they'd rather spend the extra money to drive a Stinger over the FSS. Okay. Well, that's how the Audi/BMW/MB "fanboys" feel...smh

The Stinger is for anyone looking for a fun to drive,comfortable, relatively quick, roomy hatchback that’s AWD/RWD and comes with a long warranty.

I went with the GT2 because I wanted a sun roof, HUD and upgraded seats

No, until reading someone's post about the Stinger being "90% of an S7" I had never even heard of Kia. I just join random forums and hang out for a year with hopes of one day being able to disagree with people's comparisons of Audi S7s. Its a hobby of mine.

I don't know if I would call it fanboyism but there is undoubtedly a culture here of outright hostility toward non-Stingers and disdain toward anyone who makes a post not specifically singing the praise of Kia Stingers.

Previously I've seen it described:

It's a plague that a lot of car guys suffer from when they become obsessed with one particular model or brand, they lose touch with reality. You see it on every forum in every class of car.

I don't understand why A) members feel they must prove the Stinger to be better than xxx, B) why members get triggered by anyone discussing deficiencies with Stingers, or C) why must those people get attacked for not falling in line?

Understand people will have different criteria for what makes a car great. And if someone doesn't agree with your specific criteria you don't have to attack them. Cars are inanimate objects, not in need of anyone's praise or defense. Car guys can appreciate different values and attributes (or should I say "features" heh) of different vehicles without feeling like they are betraying the car they drive.

Oh and comparing a 50K car with a 85K+ car makes no sense which ever stance you are taking. Just ridiculous.

The issue here seems to be the argumentative nature and the low post count (also not listing a car in his signature) of Nuthadey. Yes there are fanboys here but this person could choose to look the other way or ignore them instead of being a smart A$%! Just raises suspicions of motives.

Since I've been consistently attacked on this forum since I made the mistake of saying my car rattles in a different thread and it has increased here when I dared to disagree with someone's opinion on the similarities between the Stinger and S7 I may have mistaken your post for a continuation of those attacks. If that's the case, my bad.

I agree with you on people attacking you for legitimate criticism of this car. I just don't agree with the constructiveness of all the arguing, especially with perceived fanboys.

How does low post count or not having my car in my signature raise any suspicions? This is ridiculous. I joined this forum in December of 2018. I didn't post much until I said something about rattles. From there things exploded. I've probably posted more in the last month than I did in the previous 10 or 11. What suspicious motives could I possibly have here? What could someone gain by joining a forum and waiting a year to argue with someone? The paranoia on display in this thread is ridiculous. What am I a secret agent of the KGB sent to infiltrate the Stinger forum? Jesus.

And for the record, I never called anyone Stinger fanboys. I was the one called an "S7 fanboy" for daring to argue that the two cars are not the same.
