What did you pay for your Kia Stinger?

Yes balloon finance gets the lease rebates. In Texas it’s the way to go. And you can just do a simple refinance as it’s just a refi on a loan that’s in you’re name

To be clear, the dealership has to pay the initial tax by eating the cost. The state is going to get their taxes. They can call it/split it however they want, but they can't "exempt" someone from taxes so be careful on how you interpret the claims: the pay-off taxes will still have to be paid. All they did was eat about $1K in profit and called it a tax exclusion. They could have just as easily left it in and said they were dropping their price below invoice another $1K, for example.

It's just like a 4th of July sale in a hardware store where they tell you, "no tax weekend." The store remits the taxes on your behalf out of their pockets--but it still gets paid. Just advertising ;)

This lease buyout that you guys do is cool. I'm seeing around a $10k savings off the bat. I must try this sometime. :D

If you're trying to lease it, that's one thing. But if you are leasing to buy for the savings you need to ask for a 24 month lease for maximum lease cash. They're giving you low payments, but if you are going to buy the lease out immediately you don't need to care about the lease payments. There's nothing tricky involved, you can tell them what your intentions are and they'll give you what is essentially the absolute worst lease terms available.

Not trying to do the buy out. Want to lease it only. In Upstate NY a car looks like crap after 3 years :(

That will be his drive away costs, 35 payments, and then the residual+tax on it.

Right around $19,210.00 if I'm figuring right.

I’m definitely not trying to steer you away from the Stinger (I bought one!). But just to help validate your decision, know that you can probably lease a ~$52k MSRP BMW or Lexus for a similar total cost ($19.2k) by my very rough calculations. I personally would still choose the Stinger because those would be barebones BMW/Lexus models, but just throwing that out there as one point of comparison.

I traded: 2018 Tacoma 4x4 TRD OffRoad ($30,000 approved)

I bought: 2019 Stinger GT1 HiChroma Red with AWD. (After finance incentives/rebates to include military rebate: $37,985) MSRP $49.9K

adding paint/dent/interior protection for 5 years: $750

adding the platinum protection plan to extend factory and bumper to bumper warranty to 125k miles: $1500.

Wheel and Tire extended protection: $200

total warranties:$2450

Total before TTL: $40,435.

No doubt on the BMW and Lexus. Though AWD is tough to get in that price range with the performance.

For some reason I keep getting stuck on purchasing it even after he said a three year lease :)

It should be drive off + 35*payments. I came out a little higher than you but same ballpark.

Food for thought, might want to run the numbers and see how a 24 month lease runs since you'll get more lease cash. Although, as mentioned, Stingers lease terribly. The residual on a 2 year is 52% from the quotes I've received if you want to run some numbers.

Nice! I would take that Tacoma right now. Got about 6 inches of snow in 4 hours today.

Ok. I'll shoot the 24 at them. Up here in NY most dealers only have one Stinger and some don't have any. I really like the Ceramic Silver and I know I shouldn't let color emotions get the best of me....

I live in DC so it rarely snows here (rains a lot) but most sports cars here are RWD. Now I plan to go back to Idaho though which is why I decided on AWD

So I'm going to check on the 24 month lease for sure and I think I would like to work down the "Selling Price".
