What did you pay for tint.? How dark did you go?

hey all.. I have a white gt2 coming and am thinking of tinting the driver/passenger windows.. anyone in Alberta tinting there windows and what did you pay? And how dark.. I don’t want the fuzz on me Steady.. but I have had 2 retina detachment surgeries so maybe I can get a doctors note? Lol.

50% tint on back 5 windows, no tint applied to front 3.

In the photo below, only the factory tint is applied. With 50% tint you would not be able to see inside the car never mind all the way through it to the other side.

$535 for Xpel Prime XR all around. Another $255 if I do the windshield in a lighter near invisible tint for the UV protection. Another shop quoted me to $450 3M Crystalline all around and $250 for the windshield. Kinda crazy, think I paid $550 for the Huper Optik on my Mustang including the windshield before.

Got mine from the dealer as part of the deal but it's typically around $400-450 in the GTA. I went with 35 all around. If your interior is black, you can get away with a slightly lighter tint.

My dealer paid about 330 USD (350,000KRW in Korea) for 55% windshield, 50% front pair, and 35% on the back three. They are all ceramic tint by Rayno.

They aren't as good as the 3M I had in my other car. But need to wait for summer to see the heat level and evaluate again.

@Euljiro1ga My dealer has also offered to fit Rayno s5 tinting? I was thinking of making up the difference and have s7 fitted as it offers slightly better IR Rejection. Have you evaluated between the s5 and s7?

Try to haggle with your dealer a bit. Tell him another person got S7 installed, also a Kia Stinger, see his reaction.

I have not really researched on the tint much. I believe I got S7 installed on the front windshield and front windows and S5 on the rest. If you can wait until the evening, I can take a photo of the receipt. I remember them saying it comes with a lifetime warranty. You can use it to help you haggle with your dealer.

I really don't know the difference between each series. We didn't talk about which series to be installed, I just asked if they have 3M, but the shop only carries Rayno. I didn't want a dark tint, so I went with the lightest they have (front windshield and front windows, a step darker for the rest). I think the shop didn't have lighter tint in stock or not enough in the darkness level I wanted, so they automatically 'upgraded' to S7 for the windshield and front windows. I just have to wait until summer and really see if the film is any good in the strong sun. Clarity-wise, I don't see any difference.

Not sure if this helps much but that was how it went for me. My wife was mainly focusing on the dash cams, she really wanted to get the best model the dealer can give and we didn't spend much time/effort on the tint.

I pay $300 for my ceramic tint, 15% on the back window and rear driver and passenger windows; 50% on the front passenger and driver. I ask a quota for a complete front clear bra from half of hood to fender and all the front bumper. They are asking $800, so I skip that and told them I will decide on it in a few week. Have anyone here done an all clear bra to their car, if so, how much are you paying???

Hey, sorry, I didn't get a chance to drop by the car park to get the receipt yesterday.

So... I was completely wrong about the film. In the receipt, it says all windows are tinted with S5 films. Though I remember them to tell me S7 was installed on some panels, I got no proof for you to show your dealer. Sorry about that.

Anyhow, if it helps, the tint costs 320,000 won. I also got 'glass' coating that costs 350,000 won with a guarantee of 1 year.

Perhaps @xot1 can contribute. Did you get any complementary films, coatings, cams from your dealer?

$620 . 20% all around, the UV on windhsield and the headlights done, 35% .taillights he wouldn't touch, unless I wanted them spray tinted. Lifetime warranty on all the tint, including headlights.

And, ours was the first stinger he had seen, let alone worked on, so I might have gotten a break in price in exchange for him taking photos of finished product
