What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

That’s a club label allowing members to park at the clubhouse.

In Singapore, that’s the 2.0L GT-Line option apart from the 3.3L GT. We get LED headlamps, 8” screen, sunroof, heated steering wheel, 9 speaker system and cooled/heated front seats.

The Yokos are wider, almost as quiet as the Contis, with more cornering grip thanks to stiffer sidewalls. Feel more stable at high speeds and perform well in the wet too. Hopefully a little more curb protection as well!
Thanks, Robs. I am developing an interest in how Kia mixes different Stinger features for different markets. Yours seems to be a mixture of what passes for "Stinger" and "Stinger Premium" in the US. And you say that a GT 3.3L is available too. This makes me curious about further differences. It looks like the US has more trims than anywhere else; but paradoxically, we do not get some features available outside the US. Hmm.

Right now, I am sitting in Jerry Seiner's customer waiting room (second maintenance). I am almost surrounded by kids. :D Mom's need this sort of facility whilst waiting for their cars. Nice place, this. I put off giving my Stinger a bath, because JS does that as part of the maintenance. I asked them to wash out the engine bay. There is still dust in it from the TX road trip in April.

I hope you told them about the wipers! Better check the edge of your hood.

They're supposed to be pros, Kia trained and all that jazz. I didn't even think about it. But I did go look anyway, just now, and everything's fine. (Well, other than the rear around the tailpipes which was still filthy; the rest of the car is clean. Now all of it is clean, more or less: there's only so much you can do with paper towels and a spray bottle.)

Personally, no one washes my car except me. Cant risk them scratching the paint by using cheap sponges and chamois.

When I wash my cars it is the simplest method. Toss a cotton bath towel in a bucket of hot water: do the roof and hood and windows with a sopping soaked towel; dry with a second bath towel. Move to the front, wet towel then dry; rear, ditto; side one; side two; wheels. Done. It sounds easy enough! It is a thorough workout. The Stinger has surfaces, planes and edges that tax my patience. There's just so much to hit! So, I pay to have it done most of the time.

Heated steering wheel on the Singapore model you say? Isn't that a bit of a waste of time? We don't get that at all in Aust.

Your hands won’t get as cold as ours here on the equator!

No you can't. The secret is using lots of water; towel the light dirt off (I would never do this with a heavily soiled surface); then towel it dry gently, so that water spots don't dry on.

All i know is ive stopped using a chamois as is gave me swirl marks. I now dry the car with a leaf blower which gets the water out of the crevices and i do t even touch the car. Foam gun wash first , spray off, then seconds wash with a noodle glove, rinse then dry. Its quick and gives a great finish before wax etc.
