A big thanks to all who contributed with the idea, templates & advice, I fitted 0.6mm stainless steel mesh in the wheel arch vent openings, I may have cut them a little short but they fit & I will see how they hold up, I have plenty of mesh left to make more. I purchased an A4 size sheet on eBay for AU$7 still heaps left for replacements if necessary.
Note to all: if you use the template, just cut each end a little longer, you can always trim some off, they are not really that hard to install, just a small flat screwdriver, no need for any type of securing the wheel well liner holds it in place.

Got rid of the GT and stinger badge on the back. Waiting for the new emblems to come in to replace front and back. Like always the waiting is the hardest part.
