What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Pads: Front: Girodisk Magic Pads Rear: Posi quite
Rotors: R1 "carbon" blank rotors (which are really Dynamic Friction regular geomet rotors)

At 8k miles I started getting pedal vibration from the stock brakes, so I opted to truly fix the problem vs having KIA warranty me a new set of pads/rotors that will ultimately have the same problem.

Only had everything on for 3 days now.
I took a couple higher speed turns and the "highly calibrated butt dyno" does seem to feel a bit of difference.
I bedded in the brakes but outside of that have not done any other hard braking to give a good review on the brakes themselves.

Dont know if anyone else had this issue with the Girodisk, but I had to grind some of the coating off on the side of the pads to get them to fit in the caliper. Even then they would not have fit if I was trying to install with the caliper still on the rotor.
Any benefit to going for slotted and drillled rotors for the stinger vs others ? That sucks you had problems with the brake pads

To my knowledge there is nothing specifically about the stinger that makes it more/less advantageous vs any other car.

I opted for blanks because this is my daily commuter car that sees some spirited driving (so not driven on a track) and because I also live in dry desert climate.
Thus I am not needing drilled/slotted for water removal, I am not heating the brakes often enough for there to be much of any difference in cooling, and the out-gassing is not really an issue in modern ceramic brake pads.
So for my usage, drilled/slotted would provide really nothing more than aesthetically "looking fancier" (while costing $250 more, reducing pad life, and not being turn-able at next pad change).

Drilled and slotted is steep but I like your logic . I see a lil bit of every type of weather here in md so not sure if those would be good for me . Rain , snow , hot , and cold

Strange, as Girodisk generally has a reasonable reputation for quality.

I would have done the same as you - grind to fit.

Did you use any brake lubricant on the edges when installing (where you grinded) Some people do, some don't. (I don't).
I have front girodisk pads and I'm not a huge fan, although the stopping is good, they squeal all the time while braking, and for a pad that calls itself the silver bullet to brake noise I cant get behind them. Im ready to throw mine out and replace them with ceramic pads.

Where yours noisy from the get go or did it develop over time?
So far mine have been pretty quite (outside of the first few minutes before I bedded them).

Developed over time, they only squeal when slowing from certain speeds, but its a speed you would always be slowing from in city traffic. The only way to make it stop is to apply more brake pressure so I find myself late braking snd braking harder to avoid it. No vibration, just noise.

HKS spark plugs and JB4 with PNP fuel wires and EWG wires installed last night! Eibach F&R sway bars w/ Whiteline end links will go on this weekend. Still torn on whether or not I want to lower it... these roads in Philly are pretty bad.
If you lower it, you will be literally torn by the first thing you cross over that is higher than your lowered car. Yes, I know that taller things exist than stock clearance. But why reach down to meet others that would otherwise slip by?

OOOOOF that picture hurts. My 2019 was lowered with the Eibach springs and I didn't have much clearance issues except with the front lip... but entering driveways was always a gamble.

Just get actual skid plates, problem mostly solved. Pretty much my first mod was that.
