What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Wrung the girl out on the track. VIR for the win. Love it here. Stinger getting lots of attention and a lot of commentary on how fast it is. Day two tomorrow. Managed to drop about 5 seconds off my lap time from the last time I was here. PS4S tires are fantastic on the track. Eibach sways doing their job. Hope you guys and gals like pics...IMG_4921.webpIMG_4928.webpIMG_4929.webpIMG_4949.webpIMG_5007.webpIMG_5009.webpIMG_5014.webpIMG_5042.webpIMG_5047.webpIMG_5036.webp

Real nice, how many cars did you go up against? And time on your lap?
Started with a best of 2:30.5 on the full course last November and moved that down to a 2:22.9 this trip. 2nd track event for me, so I was still in novice group. Maybe 20 cars in my group Made the mistake of going out mid pack for the first of 6 sessions, traffic was slow! Essentially I was either as fast as, or the fastest in every session except for that damn Civic type R. He was so quick in the corners that I had to let him pass. (I really pulled hard on him in the straights though.) He was actually in the intermediate group and just doing the novice group that one session. Had a C-8 Vette, and a c-6 vette, couple of Caymans, BMW M-2's, Focus RS, Mustang Bullit's, Camaro SS, etc. Not saying the Stinger is actually faster than all those cars, just that I was driving faster than those drivers. Instructor took me out for a session in the intermediate group, so I had to deal with people passing me for a change. That was different as there were some 911's, even a 911 GT3, vettes, BMW M3's, etc. I had to let lots of those guys through. Fun part was letting a C7 or c8 vette pass at the start of the back strait, then hammering it and basically just having them walk away very slowly. Running JB4 Map 7, hit 146 on the back straight once, routinely 140-142. G-Loc R10 pads and Motul RBF 660 fluid doing their job. Brakes never let me down knock wood. Can't say enough about the PS4S tires. They are amazing under threshold braking. I actually had a hard time getting the ABS to even kick in. It really takes a lot of pressure. I had the back seat out, as well as the spare and all the tools, etc.
Awesome stuff!
They are a different beast on the track aren't they?

I can't believe they made you put your age on the windows though. How embarrassing...
Yes beastly on the track. So much power. Both my instructors have been like "holy hell this thing is quick." Funny you mention the age thing. Last year at my first event, I chose # 50 because I turned 50 last year. This year I'll be 51, but I'm sticking with 50 from here on out!

Finally got around to installing View attachment 69054my paddle shifters
I hear ya my fellow Canuck. It’s hard to find the time these days for those little 30 second jobs. Then if you turn your head for a sec 3 or 4 of them pile up on you and before you know it you’ve got a major 5 minute job on your hands. Talk about trying to find the time.

Might as well post this here as well. FINALLY lowered the car on H&R RWD version springs. I'm happy.

1971 FTW! I can't believe that I spent 8 hours fighting with the car to install springs WITH the help of my 80yo dad :D

1971 FTW indeed!!

How do the lowering springs feel? Im thinking about lowering my car as well but the coil overs are just too expensive for me...

They are fine. A little stiffer, but that's to be expected with less travel. They are plenty comfortable.

I've run coilovers on plenty of cars and have only had an issue once before when they were way too stiff. I imagine that coilovers for our cars are well sorted. However, I wasn't willing to play any games with the electronically controlled shocks. That's a can of worms I wasn't willing to tackle. :D

Can you post a pic of the handles close up? Ive been really considering them. And possibly a link to where you got yours
They were cheap.. truly did it as a test to see what it would look like if I swapped them, but for $60 worth the trial run lol. Post up shortly

Yea electric problems.. definitely dont want to mess with those lol. Ive also heard from some of my friends and a few threads on the forum that springs really destroy your OEM coils?
