What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

It's sad indeed. These days I try to not to go south of Devon any more. Patronize the suburbs as much as possible. We did have one car jacking not too far away few months ago. Folks need to be fully aware of their surroundings at all times.

CC is the way to go.

Killer day for a bath.

I installed my Lozic ECU friday, 1.4bar, while I have not been able to fully launch it yet because winter, from a slow roll (20ish mph) it feels very fast, I hit 80mph in the same spot my JB4 would be around 70mph. Logs started off a little worse than I would like, but they get better with each passing day, and after last night (Monday) test, seem to be in the area I would like them to be.

Did you notice a big difference with your TCU tune?

Well my tune from Lozic was an ecu tune, however my TCU tune also makes a big difference, easily at least a half second quicker off the line because you can actually build boost off launch. I have not been able to true combine the two yet as its winter here and finding a straight road that is clean-ish is very difficult, as well as I can spin all 4 of my winter tires in any gear just by mashing the throttle, so I know they wont grip for crap.

I'm sitting at Jerry Seiner, South Jordan, right now: James just informed me that my brake pads, at c. 49K miles are still at 8mm all around (they haven't moved since 4K miles ago, hah :D). A/S tires not sounding like these Nitto Motivos are going to get anywhere near 60K miles tread wear: down to 7 in front and 5 in back: I probably have a total of c. 20K on them. Hmm. They're going to give my car a wash (I know), because I impetuously said "yes" because of kitty footy prints on it that I didn't have time to get off before coming here. Now the tech is out accelerating to see if he can replicate the "stumble" I described: imagine being a tech at Kia, given permission to "go fast" in a customer Stinger. :D:rofl:

(edit to add: James just handed me this:

Another case of a cracked plug. Which of yous said that your "stutter/stumble" under acceleration was a cracked plug? A couple of weeks back, I think. Anyway, I'm going away a happy camper from my service appointment today (as long as they don't rash my wheels: what was I thinking!:rofl: ).)

(edit, edit: James just assured me that they wash by hand, so no chance of duplicating the wheel rash on a tunnel guiderail. Whew! I said, "A hand wash, cool. Maybe I should come to you guys more often. :D)

^^And why are you not with him so you can help better identify this concern?

^^Disregard. From a post elsewhere it appears your problem was a cracked insulator on a spark plug. Wonder how that happened. Overtorqued maybe?

What a ripoff! I have to buy two! Stupid Stinger.

And the air arrows are going the wrong way.
If you did a typhoon style you would have to do two also.

Nope, just black! Apparently our intake setups are very similar. I kept the stock boxes because true CAI mods on the Stinger don't seem very common.
Yeah, plus with a number of them, it doesn’t really seem “cold air”.
Also, until recently, none were CARB certified, even though in California we have 8 years from new before smog checks come in.
Still like stock look in case dealer gets weird about it.

I have just installed the MyKeyPremium remote start module and oh boy, under the glovebox / near the fender is not a nice location to fidlle around in (also not much room to tuck away the bulky new cables). But yeah, eventaully managed to complete it without anything hanging out and the module works nicely. Proximity lock/unlock is very nice to have too.

Q: I assume proximity unlock won't work by design when the car is remote-started? It works ok when the car is off/locked.

I did the accesorides remote start and agree with you on the location being “fun”, but it was a super easy project and love it now that it’s currently 27 degrees out.
