What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

I'm getting the Borla catback exhaust, Ark mids, HKS plugs and Injen intakes installed tomorrow possibly.
Mechanic finally gave me a rough estimate: 3hrs to install the plugs, 1hr for the exhaust and 3hrs to install the intakes. Does it actually take that long to install the intakes?!?!?! I was thinking an 1hr 30min tops.
Charges 110$ an hour

Today's project. Don't wash/wax in hot sun, they said. Only 90°F so that's the closest we get all month.

Any mechanic worth a damn would have that all done in three hours.

Excuse me, that's like 1k in a day. That's pretty much dealership rate! Just do everything yourself, I did all of that but JT intakes instead of injen. JTs took long because I didn't have the right couplers. Also be aware that you might have rasp and drone when you pair Borla with the ark mids.

Where are you from?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
You are having the work done at Goodyear in Port.

Haha. Yes. Exhaust, and maybe plugs after more discussion. I'll do the intakes myself.
I think I missed seeing you there by an hour or so.
Do you live in the area?

Yes, over by St Peters. I installed the Injens on mine if you need help.

The Injen intakes are much quicker to install than that. His quote for plugs is steep too, I didn’t disassemble my intake plenum and it was about an hour including watching the DIY video guys on the forum made. I think I took about an hour to do my Ark exhaust on a lift and I really took my time getting everything perfect. My car only had a thousand miles so everything was clean and came apart without issue. I just did my homework before starting any work which I guess is time spent as well.

Thanks. I think I can do the intakes without problem. I also have a JB4 I'll probably do myself. Not sure if the install varies much from the Racechip but if I need a hand with that any help would be much appreciated.

Placed and order for some new shoes. Can't wait to put them on early next week.
Looking good.

So I've got to ask, what's with the large number of Stingers rocking the Niche wheels? Are they a perfect fit, the new hot brand, or what? Why Niche?

Don't get me wrong, they look good. I just see a lot of guys go for the same thing when there are tons of options, I start to wonder.

Hah, I had noticed that too. I was having a hell of a time picking a set. With the SWP my criteria was to not pick a black or silver set, not break the bank and find something that looks aggressive not luxurious. Niche and Stance had several options that fit the bill. The choice was made when I saw the profile of this Panthera with a lighter version of the Gemello.

This person may be in the group or some of you may know who this is, but this look and profile is absolutely bad ass. If I get a fraction of the look with the darker version I will be pleased.

From what I understand Air Design is the manufacturer and Stingerhaus re-branded it, so yes same thing :) I got mine off Carid, couple hundred cheaper than anywhere else I looked.
Do you have a link to them? I definitely want to get some, but can't justify the $335 price tag of Stingerhaus.

Run!! 3 hrs for plugs is ridiculous, a paid mechanic should do this in an hour to an hour and a quarter. Took me about two hours fifteen with a beer break and it was my first time on the Stinger. I have Injen those should take tops an hour and these you should do yourself. Plugs to for that matter! For the exhaust and mids GO to a muffler shop! Good luck. Cheers.

Airdesign rear diffuser installed. Later this week is JB4 and Ceramic. :cool:a13.webpa14.webpa15.webpa16.webpa17.webpa18.webpa19.webp

Don’t forget to change the plugs with the JB4 install or at least gap the oem’s down.

Yup, picking up new plugs tomorrow
