Pretty much. I park safely off the street at home, at work in the first level of a garage with support poles. Park about 2-3" from a pole to keep the other idiots as far away as possible, poles are big and provide buffer on that side. Prefer parallel park when out, also to prevent door doofuses. Almost a year so far, no dings (knocking everything in sight).

My problem with parallel parking are doofuses that could hit the front or rear of your car as they try to parallel park themselves (seen this happen). Also, if I'm in an area where there's alot of bars, I'd rather park in a parking garage if there's one nearby. I've also seen drunkards stumble and hit a car(s), sometimes intentionally do so.

Yeh i was feeling anxiety this one time: a bar fight exploded 2 cars next to mine, pushing and ahoving they were getting closer to mine. And not like i was gonna tell them to be carefull around my car l

Indeed. And garages aren't safe that way either. At a previous employer I did see a guy back up and core the radiator on a Z8 with his trailer hitch. Seeing that horror take place about ruined my whole day.
