What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Bipolar weather gave us low temperatures last night. My clean Stinger got wet all around the rear (thanks to north winds). But inside the carport the snow melted and a microfiber wicked off the water pronto. After the touch of "winter", this morning is gorgeous.

Very nice and almost did the same thing myself this weekend.

Unfortunately, but luckily my exhaust shop warned me about the emissions laws and that Kia would indirectly “void your warranty” if either cat was removed. Basically, that they would document it with Kia corporate and any related engine issues may be declined because of that mod. It’s a shame because I really wanted this upgrade and will just have to wait 9 more yrs...

Unless Kia warranty guidelines are different in the US vs Canada, I think they may been blowing smoke up your ass, or just unknowledgeable. I was very clear with my service manager about my plans for mods and how it would affect warranty claims. Their position was that as long as the primary cat and O2 sensor stayed in place and the car wasn’t throwing any codes, the midpipe/secondary cat delete and cat back would not affect warranty claims.

Rebadged yesterday, the car is completely clean under the dirt! No, it's not a chip on the leading edge of the hood, it's a reflection of a light bulb (I freaked out and checked). I may re-do the stinger script badge on the back, I was off by about 1/2 a mm, and the corner of one of the holes is showing, you can't see unless you stick your face right into it, and I filled it before hand. You can't even see it in the picture, it's the one just left of the "n", but would prefer if a pressure washer doesn't blast through it at some point in the future.

Badges came off much easier than I expected, though I did sacrifice one of my wifes hair dryers and had to get her a new one. I used "spider wire" rather than dental floss or fishing line, that's definitely the way to go. Goo gone wasn't necessary except for a slight clean up after taking off the rear badge. Wheel caps were replaced as well with the Stinger E style.

Now I need to patiently wait for my backordered Eibach springs and sways.

Sorry to say but that's incorrect and your actually committing a federal offense by violating federal laws. Just one example. "Two federal agencies in June announced criminal charges against five parties, alleging they installed devices to disable emissions control systems — a violation of the Clean Air Act, among other federal laws."

I do agree some dealers are more "mod friendly" than others and you may get away with it, but then your dealership would be liable for servicing a vehicle with illegal emissions equipment. Your current service manager may not thinks its a big deal and simply not document the alteration, but I'd bet other managers, as well as Kia corporate would NOT want that liability and would tell you otherwise. If you can get documentation from Kia stating its Ok to remove a catalytic converter I will retract my statement, but until then your just gambling with your warranty claims.:cautious:

I'm not trying to argue and you can believe whatever you want, but there is a reason one of our top tuners, Terry at Burger Motor Sports has explained the same thing.
Also be aware installing downpipes is highly illegal inside the USA so if you're going to violate federal law probably not a bright idea to share that on public discussion forums.

I installed a gutted downpipe on my Talon TSi AWD, it made me teary eyed to walk around the back end of that car, I really don't see the purpose in doing that unless you are only tracking your car. 10ths and 100ths don't matter on the street. It's fun to have a project car, but no one is winning awards here. I had high-flow cats on my 300zx which still passed emissions tests, I don't see any reason to delete them entirely.

Nice, subtle mod. I like it!

Rolled the windows down and opened the sunroof. Which may sound minimal to those in warmer, drier climes...but it's been since maybe late September? In that time I've added the intakes and JB4. All that beautiful noise!

Today I got an alignment after re-adjusting the car height.
