What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Yes. I was weak. I'm away from home. I can't count on my son's water to be soft. Overnight pollen and dirty rain and bird poop got on my car. Scary looking process, though, isn't it! :D

This treatment is necessary because my car is exposed to the open Texas sky. It's going to be a long five more days. *sigh*

As a detailer. That was tough to watch.

You should have washed it at your sons place, under the shade shown on the last photo you posted, you would've been fine.

Lol. I know it. Maybe next time. It's only shady first thing in the morning. The rest of the time it is more sunny than shady. Perhaps late evening would also work.

(edit: the pic is not late evening as I originally stated. I forgot that I wanted to take a pic after I arrived yesterday; thought I did, but took one this morning, and forgot the time I took it. I'm not a good traveler and it usually takes several days for me to get settled in; and I make mistakes like this.)

You better have a awesome polisher and a good compound for your damaged paint. If your car was a child I would have reported you to child protection agency.:D

Lol touch car washes still exist? I thought everything was touchless now.
I wouldn't recognize one if I saw one. I've heard of these legendary touchless car washes.:P

Hopefully you know how to do this or you are may need to pay a detailer.
Excellent approach to the topic, both posts. Yes, I do know how to get out swirls. Just follow the directions. :) But, I don't intend to do it myself, if/when it becomes necessary. I've looked my car over in hard slanting sunlight, and either Silky Silver simply doesn't show off swirls, or they ain't there (yet).

I was impressed by the cleanliness and thoroughness of this car wash this morning. Their first step before the tunnel is to go over the entire car with a foam spray and then rinse by hand; this would remove any debris from really filthy (e.g. off road) vehicles; thus sparing the rest of us anything getting caught in the "danglies".

The other thing is, black and other dark colors are for sure going to show everything. I'd be into a detail shop the sooner. Right now the gleam and shine are very good. I have a free wax job coming, which I am saving till I think it needs it. This whole mindset is caused by the necessity imposed by saline on our roads during the winter: in order to get that off you need strong jets across the entire undercarriage. In other words, a "tunnel". I already made up my mind that I would pay the price for that necessary "abuse" later: with a detail/wax to restore the smooth surface to the clear coat.

99% in NYC are touch washes. I cant find a touchless wash within 45 minutes of where I live.

If you see any livery driver all their cars paint looks like trash.

Removed the rear KIA badge and small Stinger badges and replaced with glossy black Stinger badge. Exterior rebadging complete (unless I want to paint or move the GT/AWD badges). Next mods will be a M&S Type G spoiler painted gloss black and Eibach lowering springs. Also, probably will black out part of the tail lights. Can someone remind me which film people use to do that?

Holy hell that's insane. Poor nose.
Proximity to that forest behind does not help either.
Yeah I'm glad I don't have allergies. Every car in the parking lot is just covered. Took it down to the self wash and hosed it down today. See how much accumulates overnight.
