What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Can this also be the "What did someone else do to your Kia Stinger today" thread? Lol. Got this on my way home yesterday.

Passing a dumbass hauling a horse trailer without mud flaps. Guess he decided he liked swerving into the shoulder to kick up rocks.

Sounded like someone swung a baseball bat at my car though, scared the shit out of me. Probably repairable, but I'm not happy because I'll need to take time off work to get it fixed during business hours.

Man, that's a bad one! I've read around here that new windshields for Stingers cost up to $2k. Hopefully insurance will cover most of the cost.

Glass damage insurance is an absolute must in Arizona. My insurance company uses Safelite who will come do the replacement at your work. I hope you have something similar.

Nice, It’s a sweet ride. I upgraded to the K&N Typhoon and did a exhaust resonator delete. Am looking at the Velossa Tech big mouth ram air and HKS spark plugs. Did a few gentle cosmetic touches to it, it’s parked right now for the winter. I was going to get my rims coated like yours but, ended up blowing out a tire on a pot hole and ended up getting rims and tires(summer). Those Michelin‘s are expensive they had one in Canada and told me it would be three weeks to get it at a easy $415.
Man we should meet up, Id like to check out your mods before I proceed with what to do next in mine. Love to hear what yours sound like with the reso delete.

BlaydexX15 if you are going to replace the windshield then you can wait whenever you have time. However, if you plan to just seal it with some windshield sealant, better do it as soon as possible because it may start the hair line spray on the windshield. Once there is a hair line spray you pretty much have to replace the windshield.

Yeah, I'm going to try to get it repaired during lunch today. Nobody will come out here, so I have to drive 20 minutes back into town, yay. Lol.

I looked into windscreen replacement when i got a small rock chip in mine. The issue is its a special screen that must be fitted by kia. In Oz most wind screen repair places ship the car to the dealer for replacement due to all the driver cameras and stuff attached to screen. They dont want to mess with it. Could be a long wait to fix. See if it can be repaired until its ready to be replaced.

Holy crap! My windshield has been hit twice in nine months by pebbles big enough to make noise and leave a nick; the latest one from me passing on the inside/right of a semi. I saw the object coming an instant before it hit low in the dead center; couldn't ask for a "better" location. That is a nasty smack, Blayde. I hope it repairs nicely. My deductible is $500 (iirc, if not, then it's a thousand). Needless to say, any windshield is going to cost me a lot regardless of how much the full price is.

Just report their posts to the moderators...oh wait, shit. Never mind. Lmfao.

In all seriousness, this really upset them and they took yalls posts as an insult on their nationality. I shlt you not, one of them actually said that.

They even started their own Australian "What did you do to your Kia Stinger today" thread to insulate themselves from what they perceive as hatred from other posters. Again, I shlt you not.

And they're posting about me, a foreigner, in the Australian thread. You guessed it, shlt you not. :D

Rock chip is 'better' now, still visible, but I went through insurance and they offer a guarantee because I used a partner shop. If the chip turns into a crack, they'll cover the replacement.

I think you scare our Aussi friends away after you slash them with wet noodle from your last post;)....

It's good that you had it filled right away - once moisture gets into a chip, it's pretty much doomed.

On the advice of my glass shop, I keep a roll of scotch tape in the car. If I get 'pinged' on the road, I put a small piece of transparent tape over the chip to seal it from water ingress until I can get it looked after.

Damn, all this talk about windshield rock chips and it finally happened to me last week as well. Was on the hwy when a big ass rock flew into my windshield and made a loud ass crack sound. I even saw the rock come right at me....like my life was flashing before my eyes. My chips aren't nearly as bad as BlaydeX15, but now gotta bring it into Speedy Glass for repairs. Quite annoying as my OCD will always look at the spot of the chip and know it'll probably be permanently visible, even if it's a couple of millimeters big.
